Experiment With a Deep-Toned Cream Blush For Fall

I’ve never been big into blushes, especially deep colors designed to give you that flattering wind-swept flush, but since taking baby steps with luminizers and bronzers this past summer, I think I’m ready to dip my brushes into some richer, fall-festive hues for the season ahead! However, I’m a little wary about the heavy, overly-powdered look, especially with risky, deeper colors that have a bigger tendency to appear streaky, sink into pores or crease throughout the day. That’s why cream blushes are my go-to experimentation product for fall — the lightweight creamy formula is perfect for the dryer, cooler months ahead when the last thing your parched skin needs is more powder, plus the sheer color allows you to take the plunge and experiment with bolder shades, no matter what your skin color, that you can build gently upon application without looking caked on. Go for a pretty pinky-mauve for your staple fall color, like MAC’s Blushcreme in Posey, or experiment with a deeper version of the hue, like Nars’ Cream Blush in Montenegro. If you’re ready to dive right into fall, try a lush rosy-mocha color like Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge in Chocolate Cherry, or Paula Dorf Color Cream in Candy Apple, which looks intimidating in the pan but gorgeous on the cheeks!
