Abreva Conceal is a revolutionary new cold sore concealer that hides cold sores in an instant and protects them while they heal. I’ve read and heard so many wonderful things about this product so I was ecstatic to be given the opportunity to try it. This product is designed for cold sores but for review purposes, I applied it over a blemish instead.
It’s a clear, non-medicated patch that covers your cold sore and creates a smooth surface for you to apply makeup on top. It provides up to eight hours of coverage so you can go about your day with confidence, even when you have a cold sore.
The Application Process
I followed the instructions which I found very easy and simple to use. First I washed and dried my face. Next, I placed the round patch over the blemish, pressed down on the center lightly for about 15 to 20 seconds, and gently pulled the application tab. I love that the patch is clear and very thin, and stayed right in place.
Once on, I applied makeup as I normally do and I was amazed to see how well the Conceal blended in with my skin. My daily makeup routine is mainly concealer and powder foundation. I applied the concealer first and it works so well over the Conceal patch. After coming home from an 8 hour work day, I was surprised to see the patch still in place. I never felt uncomfortable with it on which is always important. I could eat, drink, and talk as usual. While using this product, I also discovered that lip gloss, lipstick, and a lip liner works well over the Abreva patch too.
Overall, I love the idea behind this product because cold sores can be embarrassing and no one wants to be out in public with an uncovered sore.
