I never thought that after my teen years I would still be dealing with acne. Many women struggles with adult acne and it can be very frustrating to still not have an answer for your skin. I deal with my acne constantly and get occasional breakouts so I know how it feels. Luckily, I came across a product that has done wonders to my skin. It’s called GoClear and it’s a three step solution for acne sufferers. It’s designed to treat mild adult acne.
I will admit, in the beginning I was a bit skeptical of using this product. I have oily skin that is prone to acne and it’s so difficult to find a product that can treat or at least control it. I’ve always jumped around and when I learned about GoClear, I thought to myself, “another acne product claiming to clear my skin.” I’ve tried so many acne products in the past and the results were always the same; It would irritate my skin, make it extremely dry, or make my acne worse. I feared the same for this product but I still gave it a chance. Surprisingly, after a few days of using GoClear, I saw results and I fell in love with the product. It has been a month now and my acne is in control and my skin looks fantastic but to be honest, my skin started to look better in just a few weeks.
Like I mentioned earlier, GoClear is a three-step solution. It includes:
- a hydrating daily cleanser- removes impurities, makeup, and contains gentle exfoliating granules
- an acne treatment gel Salicylic Acid 2%- designed for all-over-use.
- a fast-absorbing, oil-free moisturizing sunscreen SPF 15- provides UVA/UVB sun protection, complexion-enhancing botanicals, and a matte finish.
Here’s more details about GoClear:
GoClear is an acne regimen designed to purify, clarify, balance, and protect the complexion. GoClear is committed to creating products work well for all types and tones of skin, and are free of potentially irritating ingredients, which can cause post-treatment dark spots for acne sufferers. The products in the 3-step Acne and Blemish Regimen do not contain alcohol, propylene glycol, lanolin, PABA, or artificial dye or fragrance, and are all oil free and allergy tested. GoClear does not formulate with benzoyl peroxide.
It also contains no:
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan
The products are so gentle on my skin. I use the 3-step system day and night. The cleanser is fantastic. My skin feels super clean and the microbeads contained are gentle and leaves my skin soft. The acne treatment is a gel and I apply only a very thin layer over my face. I use it day and night and it doesn’t dry my skin. My skin started to improve within a week or two. I love the moisturizing sunscreen because it’s very lightweight and it doesn’t leave my skin oily. I like how it leaves a matte finish and I use it as my primer before applying makeup. Overall, it’s a great product and I’m still surprised by how well GoClear worked for me. I’ve never been happier!

Acne scars can be just as a problem or even more problematic than acne because it takes a longer time to heal. There are even some acne scars that will forever stay on your face and all the products and treatments in the world can’t fix them. It’s always best to talk to your physician about the best treatment for your acne scars. If the scars are not so big and deep then you’ll have a much better chance of removing them.
So, how do I get rid of acne scars?
There are several treatments to remove acne scars: natural home remedies or going to the doctor’s office.
Here are some natural home remedies that can help clear up your acne scars:
1. Drink plenty of water- Water is not only good for your health, it’s also good for the skin. Water helps flush out toxins from the body and skin. It also cleanses and rejuvenates the skin thus making it easier for dead skin cells to shed off the body.
2. Fruits and vegetables- It contains loads of vitamins and minerals that can make your skin cells grow healthier and heal your acne scarring.
3. Lemon juice- It contains lots of Vitamin C which is an antioxidant that removes toxins from the body and skin. It gives your skin a much brighter complexion and not only does it fight off acne, it’s also very effective of reducing your acne scarring. You dead skin cells sheds off at a faster rate and the new skin will grow much healthier.
4. Aloe Vera Gel- Aloe Vera is an herb that treat many skin ailments including acne. It’s great to use if you have acne prone skin and it also reduces your acne scars. Aloe Vera gel is best to use and they are readily available in stores. Here are more skin care remedies using Aloe Vera!
5. Olive Oil- It’s not only healthy for the body, it’s great for the skin. Olive Oil is loaded with skin-healing properties and it’s a great treatment for any scars including acne. Just rub a little bit on the affected area and overtime you will see a big improvement.
If natural home remedies doesn’t do the trick to treat your acne scars, try these more effective acne scarring treatments:
1. Laser resurfacing is one of the most effective ways to treat your acne scars. It’s usually performed by a dermatologist and this type of treatment is for people with severe acne scarring. After the doctor numbs the top area of the skin, they use a laser to removes that top layer. It can take between 1 to 2 weeks for the acne scars to heal properly.
2. Dermabrasion is a different treatment that is less often use in the dermatology office. The dermatologist uses a metal brush to scrape away the top layer of the skin removing acne scars along with the dead skin. This helps to promote new skin and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Healing time can be between 2 to 3 weeks.
3. A Chemical Peel is another treatment that is more mild. It’s like an exfoliating scrub you use at home but it’s much harsher. When used, more layers of the skin are removed compared to the typical at home scrub. It’s very quick and healing time can be a day or two. Multiple treatments would be needed to get great results.
4. Microdermabrasion is similar to dermabrasion; however, it’s not as abrasive as dermabrasion and less skin is removed. It can be done quickly at the doctor’s office. Multiple treatments would also be needed for better results.
5. Hydroquinone is an ingredient found in many creams to help fade acne. There are several over the counter creams you can use but they are not as effective. The prescription version is far more better since it has a higher percentage. Again, talk to your doctor. They always know what’s best for your skin.
So, there you have! Hopefully anyone of these treatments will help you reduce the look of your acne scarring. I have a few acne scars too and I have tried both microderbrasion and chemical peels. They’re fantastic but it’s very costly. If you’re acne is not to severe, I would skip the doctor office treatment and try the at home remedies.

Ever wonder why your face breaks out when wearing makeup or why your makeup application doesn’t go on evenly? Have you ever considered your makeup brushes as the culprit?
Truth is, makeup brushes can collect lots of dirt, oil, and bacteria after a long period of usage. So, it is essential to frequently wash your brushes so your face can stay clean and healthy. Bacteria is one factor that people should be aware of when using makeup brushes. Bacteria loves to breed in brushes which will eventually cause acne breakouts so cleaning them shouldn’t be taken lightly. You want to maintain a good hygiene to help keep your skin clear so CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES!
Here are a few tips to properly clean your makeup brushes. First you’ll need:
- Towel
- All your brushes (eyeshadow, makeup, blush)
- Shampoo
- Vinegar
- Water
- First, run all your brushes under the sink faucet in warm water.
- Clean them by using a small amount of shampoo, work in a lather, then rinse. (Makeup brushes are made out of hair so shampoo would be a great choice.)
- Continue to shampoo and rinse until there’s no more color from the brush.
- Make a mixture of vinegar and water in a bowl. 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar.
- Dip the brushes in the mixture for a couple of seconds and remove. (This will disinfect the brushes.)
- Lastly, place brushes on top of towel and allow them to air dry.
There are other alternatives you can use to clean your brushes. Several inexpensive brush cleaners are available at your nearest beauty stores. They are just as effective and will give your brushes that proper cleaning. I prefer the method above but either one will work. Your brushes should also be cleaned once a week. Doing so will keep your face clear and your makeup looking flawless.
