How to Get Kate Middleton’s Royal Brows

ROYAL BROWS

According to celebrity “Brow King” RAMY, who has worked with celebrities including Taylor Swift, Halle Berry and Juliana Margulies, Kate’s brows, like her makeup, were total perfection.  Classic and natural and not the least bit trendy.

Ramy  advises every bride to keep her brows well groomed, but classic (same with makeup) because you want your wedding day photos to stand the test of time. If your eyebrows follow the trend of the moment, whether thick or thin, your wedding pictures will ultimately look dated.

To achieve Kate’s classic beautiful, luminous princess-worthy brows, Ramy recommends using  the following Tweezerman products. “I only use Tweezerman tools because they offer the very best precision and quality necessary for achieving the best results. Your eyebrows are a key feature on your face. They deserve the best tools to groom them!”

Step 1. Let them grow!

  • Grow in your brows as much as possible before the big day!

Step 2. Tweeze

  • If you can’t see an expert for a brow shaping, use the award-winning Tweezerman Slant® Tweezer ($20)to remove obvious strays, taking as conservative an approach as possible. Tweeze along the natural shape and arch of your brow line,  Grab each individual hair at the root to avoid breakage, pulling smoothly in the direction of hair growth.

Step 3. Trim

  • Then brush brows both upwards and down with the Tweezerman Brow Shaping Brush ($12) to assess excess length and trim off excess length with Tweezerman’s Brow Shaping Scissors & Brush ($18).  Again, take conservative approach. You can always trim off more, but if you clip too much, you may create a gap in your brows.

Step 4.Define

  • For the big day, fill in your brows with a brow powder or pencil two shades lighter than your hair color to sparse areas using short, fine stroke and then blend with a brow brush.
  • Tweezerman’s retractable Brow Shaping Brush ($12) can be used dry for a soft, natural look or wet, for a more defined and dramatic arch. When in doubt, choose a universally flattering taupe, such as the RAMY Perfect Brow Wand ($28) or the Tweezerman Eye enhance Brow Definer and Highlighter Duo ($20)

Step 5 : Style & Tame

  • Ramy recommends finishing off the look by brushing brows into place with Tweezerman’s clear Browmousse™ ($10) for all day hold.

5 Steps to Gorgeous Brows This Holiday Season

by Diana Ajih on December 9, 2010

Give yourself the gift of gorgeous brows this holiday season with Chella’s new Brow Full-Fillment collection. Everyone wants to look and feel their best during the holidays and well-groomed brows are a great way to revamp your look and frame the face. Chella Professional

Skincare has partnered with Celebrity Makeup Artist DeeDee Marcelli to launch a brand new brow enhancement collection, complete with a brow growth serum, essential tool kit and an amazing brow color kit in four shades to create the perfect brow just in time for the party season without a visit to the beauty salon.

Below are a few cardinal brow shaping rules from DeeDee that would make for a perfect addition to your holiday beauty coverage.

1.  SHAPE: Use our Chella stencils or the “pencil method” to figure out where your eye brow should start, arch, and end.  Holding the pencil, align flush against the side of your nose and this is where your brow should begin. Tilt the pencil midpoint and look for the highest part of your brow above the iris and this is where it should arch. Pencil in hand, tilt the pencil from the bottom of your nose to the outside edge and this is the ending point.

2. DRAWING: Use the Chella brow pencils to fill in desired look. Our pencils have a fine creamy tip that make drawing in the hairs look extremely natural. Apply using short strokes to draw thin hairs into place and smudge with our Chella brush.

3. COLOR: To make your brows look natural, it’s important to pick the right shade. Try to match the color of your hair! If you have many colors running through your hair (with various highlights) don’t be afraid to use two or three pencils! This will give you the most natural results. If you have gray hair, I suggest using our blonde pencil. For black hair, our dark brown is the perfect choice. I feel a black pencil is just too harsh and I like the youthfulness of a deep rich brown/black.

4. GROOMING: Now that you have selected your shape of brow and filled it in with the pencil, it’s time to get rid of any excess hair that would ruin the picture. Hairs that are overgrown should be gently clipped with scissors. If there is a lot of plucking to be done, I suggest our tweezers. For sculpting the brow (and also for any hairs that are too short to grip), the Chella razor is my favorite tool. It’s quick and has great precision. Don’t think twice about removing the hairs above the brow line! Also, our razor works wonders above the mouth or any place on the face where facial hairs are a problem.

5. FINE TUNING: The finishing touches should be highlighting your brow bone to show off and draw attention to your new brows. Chella Lace Highlighter is the perfect shade! A beautiful, blushy beige, our creamy pencil is soft, pretty and natural. Next, to set the shape of your brows, a quick brush though with the Chella Brow Gel and your brows are now camera ready!

Get Your Brows into Tip Top Shape

by Diana Ajih on August 21, 2009

benefit-brows

As we all know eyebrows can dramatically change your look and enhance your appearance when shaped correctly. Ideally it is best to have your brows professionally shaped. But on a daily basis your brows need to be kept up in between waxing and shaping sessions. The best way to do this is with a brow kit. There are plenty of brow kits out there. Our favorite kits include some kind of gel or shaping wax, a highlighter, and also a powder or pencil to fill in the shape.

The Smokin’ Eyes kit from Benefit ($36 at Ulta) includes everything you need to get dramatic sultry smoky eyes in addition to fabulous brows. It contains three eye shadows as well as a liner, brow shaping wax, mini tweezers and an angled/fluffy brush. I love the compact that this set comes in – small enough to keep me organized and it will fit in my slimmest clutch handbag. From the eyebrow guru herself, Anastasia’s mini brow kit includes a sampling of favorites including a highlighter, tweezers and a clear brow gel. Again perfectly mini sized to keep in your makeup bag for daily maintenance if you are lucky enough to book an appointment with Anastasia Soare herself in Beverly Hills. The Anastasia Mini Brow Kit ($25 at Nordstrom). For brows that need a bit of conditioning therapy the Billion Dollar Brows Brow Babe Kit ($45 at Skinstore.com) includes a treatment for over-plucked and thin eyebrows. Included in the kit is a “Brow Boost” deep conditioning treatment which will help to restore undernourished eyebrows. The brow powder and brush will help to fill in brows to give a natural brow line shape. Also included is a gel to keep brows smooth and in place while giving them a radiant glow. For mineral makeup enthusiasts, you’ll love the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Essential Brow Kit ($32 at Sephora ). The bareMinerals kit inlcudes a mineral brow color available in various shades and a tube of finishing gel.
