Short Curly Hairstyles
Soft, Loose Curls
Soft, Loose Curls is a very romantic look and it’s a great style to wear for a date. Here’s a very basic way to get soft curls-
1. Grab a thick curling iron and spray thermal heat protectant from root to end.
2. Take a chunk of your hair and starting at the tip, wrap your hair around the iron.
3. Leave it there for a couple of seconds then release.
4. Repeat until entire head is full of curls. If curls look to perfect, use a texturizing spray and use your fingers to separate curls.
5. Grab your favorite hairspray to keep your curls intact and your done!

Summer isn’t over yet but I am so ready for fall to come. I’ve been ready since watching the shows upcoming fall trends back in February. Besides the clothes and makeup, I’ve always observe the hair and how it’s styled. This fall, expect lots of retro hairstyles. There were so many spotted down the runway but these six hair trends stood out the most.

Fall 2010 Hairstyle Trends
1. Soft, flowing, fluffy hair- At the 3.1 Philip Lim show, hair stylist Odile Gilbet chose a look inspired by Blondie. You can rock this style with long or short hair.
2. Blunt Bangs- Popular hair trend this fall seen down several runways like Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B. and Jen Kao.
3. Ponytails- Here’s a sexy side ponytail with textured ends seen at the DKNY runway show.
4. The off-side, loose bun at the Yigal Azrouel show is great for a day or night look. It’s simple and easy to create which is why it’s one of my favorite fall looks.
5. The messy, just woke out of bed look. Hmm….who does this remind me of? Ah yes! This is Kate Moss notorious look during the 90′s. It’s back now as the “Kate Moss” look. Here’s the hairstyle seen down the runway at Marc Jacobs.
6. Spikey buns are great! Especially this low, chignon at BCBG Max Azria runway show. It’s the look for fall but honestly you can wear this look during the warmer seasons too like right now!

When it comes to our hair, color is everything and we do love a fresh do. I like to explore hair colors and it seems that the newest trend on the scene is ombre hair color. It’s been seen down the Proenza Schouler runway and on celebs too so, yes the two-toned hair is starting to surface everywhere.
But do you think this trend is a yay or a nay?
Honestly, I like this hot look and so does Lauren Conrad. It looks great on her… wouldn’t you agree? Kristin Ess of Chris McMillan salon is the woman behind Lauren’s new summer color.
This is how she achieved this beach blonde look:
Lauren’s “Ombre” color starts with a low volume smudge which only stays on for 15 minutes and takes her natural color to a slightly warmer more golden tone. Then I carefully applied a baby highlight around the hairline. And last, free handed highlights that get heavier toward the bottom, creating a more natural, believable, beachy summer blonde.

Whitney Port has been rocking the ombre color look for a while now.

1. use a soy-based leave in conditioner
2. apply a small amount of Moroccan oil to the ends of the hair
3. flat iron the hair using a Croc flat iron and smooth with an Elchim blow-dryer.
