Lancome New Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black

Friday, September 5, 2008

I know this is late notice but I needed to post this hot new gloss from Lancome. Lancome is definitely setting the trend of black this Fall season. I’ve noticed a lot of models wearing dark or even black lipstick in several fashion magazine. The goth lipstick pout is definitely taken notice in fashion right now.

Lancome’s new Color Fever Gloss comes in Piha Black, a sheer black gloss that’s creating so much attention and buzz in the beauty world. It’s a hard look to pull off and not everyone can do it. I don’t think I can; however, there’s another way you can show off this hot gloss.

Lancome is coming out with a new lip set which comes in Color Fever Gloss Piha Black and Color Fever lipstick in Piha Red. Both colors are derived from high fashion. This set was created by Aaron de Mey and this limited edition, that’s scheduled to come out in November, is only available at www.lancome-usa.com, 5 Lancome boutiques and at Bloomingdales 59th St in New York. Only 500 sets will be sold. If you are in New York, you can call ahead to be put on the waiting list at 212-705-2886. Cost: $48 for set.

This look is super hot and sexy. I love how the red lipstick is topped over the black gloss. It definitely gives your lips more drama. Genius!

What do you think of the new set?

Clinique Fall 2008 Collection Looks HOT!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Clinique Fall 2008 Collection is looking pretty HOT. Their trendy makeup this makeup is straight from the runway by taking the matte look and making it modern. It looks hot and I’m very surprised at how great their collection is this fall! This collection features lipstick, eyeshadows, and more. Such a variety of products and colors. Here is just a taste of what is coming this Fall:

Lips

Clinique’s new High Impact Lip Color is the next generation of lipstick which is HOT, HOT, HOT! It’s long lasting wear, feather resistant, and comes with an SPF 15 to protect your lips from the sun. There are 20 different colors to offered; but the Red-y to Wear, a red wine color, is a true beauty. I just love the color red!

Cheeks

Clinique BlushWear Cream Stick delivers a healthy hint of color to your cheeks. Very subtle and natural looking. It goes on creamy but stays on as a powder. There are three different shades to choose from this Fall and this Cream Stick goes well on any skin tone or skin types. Oh, and it’s oil free which I love.

Eyes

Clinique’s New Colour Surge Eyeshadow Stay Matte comes with nine new shades this Fall. This eyeshadow is very easy to blend and buildable especially if you’re looking for a smokey eye look. The shadows are also sheer and easy to apply which is great if you are new to makeup and still learning the tricks of applying eyeshadow. Again, very easy to use.

Check out the Clinique counter or Clinique.com for their Fall 2008 Collection.

Clinique Long Last Glosswear Stays on For 8 Hours?

Monday, July 28, 2008

So, I tested out a new product from Clinique called Long Last Glosswear w/SPF 15 which states that the lipgloss juices up your lips for 8 hours. Now, I came across a lot of products that make promises such as this one and they don’t deliver. Since I do wear Clinique and so does my friends and family, I decided to take on the challenge and try it on myself. So this weekend, I went to a clinique counter and tested a sample on my lips. Now, if it actually stayed on for 8 hours, I would buy it. If NOT, I would be very, very disappointed because I like Clinique and most of their products.

The results:

Well, first off let me say that I’ve always been a fan of Clinique and I was quite impressed with this gloss. It didn’t stay on for 8 hours like it said; however, it stayed on my lips for 6 hours which is still pretty long. I’ve never had a lipgloss that stayed on for that long, so I decided to buy the product anyway. I would give this product a 4 out of 5 only because it didn’t stay on as long as it said it would but it’s still one gloss I would recommend. They have over 18 shades too from sheer to pigmented! Sunset is my favorite. Price: $14

Stila’s Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain

Friday, July 11, 2008

“Beauty is just a bowl of cherries with Stila’s new Cherry Crush lip and cheek stain.”
Another lipgloss that delivers health and beauty to lips. I love the smell of this stuff. This lipgloss and cheek stain is infused with cherry and pomengranate extracts which not only moisturizes, but reacts with the ph level of the skin giving you deeper lip color and brighter cheeks. It also has other antioxidants like Vitamin A, C, and E for added moisture.
It is a water based formula so it’s a bit thinner than the normal lipglosses.

My review:
I’ve always been a fan of Stila’s products but for this particular one, I’m not completely convinced. I tried and experimented with it a couple of times and I noticed that the lip stain gets inside the lines of my lips after a couple of hours. That’s not hot at all. So if you have dry or cracked lips, and lips with deep lines, I wouldn’t recommend this product. I think it’s best for people with very smooth lips. I like the cheek stain and I only need a small amount. I guess it all depends on your skin. You might need a little more or a little less.
On a positive note, I do love the smell, and I do love the fact that it has antioxidants such as Vitamin A, C, and E. I would probably rate it a 3 out of 5.

LUSH Delivers Beauty and Health to Skin

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

I first heard about Lush cosmetics 2 years ago when my co-worker bought me LUSH soaps as a christmas present. Ever since then, I was in love. They smell so nice and it looks and smells so fresh. LUSH is a very popular store in L.A. where they sell fresh handmade soaps. I was reading a magazine where it mentioned Lindsay Lohan shopping at LUSH and I said to myself, “OMG, I shop there too!” :) They also sell other great products for the body, face, and hair. So far I have only used their soaps and their body creams. Their creams are just as great and it is fresh, healthy, and with all natural ingredients. All their moisturizing ingredients are from plants and contain’s no petroleum oil. LUSH definitely gives my skin beauty, health, and leaves it soft and smooth. LUSH cosmetics is worldwide so you can find it just about anywhere.

That’s all for today. See you next time!

BeautyHealth Finds Hot CK Makeup Collection

Monday, June 23, 2008

Who knew that Calvin Klein would have a makeup collection. I just learned of this collection over the weekend. They have some pretty great stuff. ck Calvin Klein Makeup Collection has this great shimmer palette ($35) that’s new and great for summer. The palette comes in 4 great earthtone, shimmery colors (white pearl, pale gold, gold, bronze) that can be used on the face, and eyes. I swirled all four together and brushed it on my cheekbones. It really complimented me quite well and really brightened my face. This  can be used for any skin tone and it’s definitely a must have for summer. I ended up buying one for myself.

I also bought ck Calvin Klein Delicious Pout Flavored Lipgloss ($13). Not only is the lipgloss great, the tube itself looks awesome. The lipgloss is very clear and transparent, which I like, and it has a hint of flavor. It’s also enriched in Vitamin E and Vitamin C, so you get sexy and healthy lips combined into one. I love it!

They have some great colors. I tried and bought ck Calvin Klein Delicious Pout in Dew Drop. It’s a light nude color and I feel really sexy it in. I am always a sucker for nude lip color because it compliments me so well.

Check out the CK Makeup collection at your nearest Sephora, or CK stores.

Protect Your Healthy Skin From The Summer Rays

Thursday, June 19, 2008

The sun this summer is blazing so we need to make every attempt to protect our skin from burns, cell damage, dryness, premature aging, and of course, skin cancer. So, I took the liberty into finding some great products that will protect the face, body, hair, and lips from the summer sun.

So what’s hot in the Philosophy line, Well… Hope in a Jar w/SPF 20 is. I have always used Hope in a Jar so I was excited when they came out with one that includes SPF. Hope in a Jar w/SPF 20 keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized. It exfoliates the skin for a rosy glow, and the SPF provides UV protection daily. This would be a great buy for the face. ($18-45)

Peter Thomas Roth Sunscreen Mist SPF 30 is great for the body. Because it’s a spray, it goes on evenly on the skin. It has vitamin E included which helps with skin protection. It also has a nice citrus smell for all you citrus lovers. :) ($28)

This one is my favorite. Frederic Fekkai Summer Hair Wash and Wear is great product to protect your hair from the killer sun. It’s an instant spray shampoo the revives and refreshes limp or overstress hair without the use of water. It also protects the hair from UV rays using a Solarshield protection created by Fekkai. Checkout his Summer Collection. Great choice for hair protection. ($22)

Last but not least is the lips. I bought this a week ago and I must say it really softens my lips. LAVANILLA The Healthy Lip Butter, protects the lips with an SPF 8 while nourishing it with antioxidants. It also soothes lips with the vanilla bean infused in it. Soft lips with SPF 8…….You get the best of both worlds! ($16)

So remember, to lather up on suncreen this summer and checkout some of these great products at Sephora.

The Lip Scrub for Beauty and Healthy Lips

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

I must confess…… I get scaly lips from time to time and I’m always trying to find ways to keep my lips soft and smooth. So I want to share some of my secrets to maintaining soft lips daily. At home, I use a toothbrush, vaseline, and sometimes lotion to keep my lips sexy smooth. I take the toothbrush and vaseline to massage and exfoliate my lips which makes it very soft. No more scaly lips!!! It’s a great to do daily if you have extreme scaly lips or just a couple of times a week to maintain smooth lips.

When I’m not at home though, or when I’m on the go, I use this Lip Scrub made by Sara Happ($20). It’s a great lip exfoliator for healthy lips that fits perfectly in your purse. I’m starting to use this more than the toothbrush because it’s a sugar scrub, it comes in several flavors, and it just taste better. :)

My favorites are the vanilla bean flavor and cocoa. It tastes so yummy. It’s also great for a quick touch up. Either one works great and gives the same results but, The Lip Scrub taste better to me. Check out TheLipScrub.com for a store near you. Later!!

People are always asking, “How do I minimize my pores?”. I sympathesize with you. So, I’m going to share with you some products that I have used and some other popular products that can help shrink and minimize pores.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More is a great pore minimizer product. It absorbs oil and improves skin’s complexion also. I’ve used this product for a long time and it definitely treats and camaflouages my pores. What’s great about this beauty product is that you can use as a primer.

DERMAdoctor Picture Porefect is another pore minimizer. I have never used it but heard good things about this product. I’m a big fan of DERMAdoctor because their products always deliver good results.

Rose Face Mask by fresh is a mask I use on my face once a week. It hydrates and tones the face while tightening pores. It’s infused with rose petals which leaves the skin relaxed and rejuvenated. Great product to buy.

Last but not least is Mineral Veil by Bare Escentuals. This is more of a powder that you should use in conjunction with makeup. The powder absorbs oil and minimizes the sight of your pores. It gives you that photo finish look. I use it all the time since I have oily skin. I can’t live without it.

Hot New Beauty and Health Products for Summer

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Hey.

So I was at Sephora a couple of weeks ago doing my usual shopping and I came across a new beauty and health product from Bliss. Everyone has heard of FatGirlSlim but now they have just released a product called FatGirlSleep, a potent night time version of the famed skin firming lotion that get rids of your unsightly dimples as you snooze. I really like the product especially the sweet lavender smell. I’ve been using it for a week now and I am already seeing some differences in my skin. It has a very relaxing and aromatherapeutic effect. Good product to reduce your unsightly cellulite. ($38)
FatGirlSlim ($38)

I have always been a fan of Tarte so I was excited when they came out with a new cheek blush stain. Tarte’s Natural Swirl Cheek Stain is a hot pick for summer. What makes it even better than the regular cheek stain is how it’s infused with T5 super fruit complex. A blend of goji, acai, maracuja, acerola, and pomagranate. Sweet Huh! Tarte combines two flattering shades which results in a fresh, healthy glow. Oh….. Here’s another bonus, it is filled with antioxidant rich nutrients and vitamins that is known to deliver antiaging benefits and restoring skin’s natural health and beauty. It goes well on any skin tone. Fabulous product. ($28)

Tarte Natural Swirl Cheek Stain ($28)

Ready for the perfect summer tan. Well get ready because Mystic tan has came out with some new tanning products to help you get that summer tan in no time. Lots of raves on this product. Mystic Perfect tan kit helps you get rid of all your uncertainties of using an at home self-application tan. I tested it on myself and it does give you a natural looking tan. Price is not bad either. ($54) So, just another alternative to tanning on the beach and frying your skin. :)
