No matter how many lipsticks or lipglosses I have in my makeup bag, I could never look past a great lip balm. It’s an essential! I’ve always loved those Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers because they smelled wonderful, they’re hydrating, and it adds a hint color to your pout. Now, Lip Smackers are launching a new range of lip balms and has teamed up with Vitamin Water to create: Vitamin Schtick.
Vitamin Schticks come in the same flavors as the mineral-filled drinks:
- Power-C (dragon fruit)
- XXX (an acai, blueberry and pomegranate mix)
- Multi-V (lemonade)
- Focus (a kiwi and strawberry mix)
- Essential (orange), Energy (tropical citrus)
- Formula 50 (grape)
- Revive (fruit punch)
They contain vitamin E and sunscreen so it nourishes and protects the lips. I think it’s time for me to invest in more lip balms.
Vitamin Schticks are now available at your local drugstores like Walgreens, Rite-Aid selling for $2.99.

I’ll have to admit, although I buy lip gloss like it’s nobody’s business, I’m a little bit color-shy. I don’t mean to be — I just have a hard time straying from my comfort zone, which tends to be more on the neutral or soft pink side. Lame, I know. But one lip color I’m tempted to try out for the summer is punch. Sweet and bright like sherbet, yet not quite as “look at me” as fire engine red, punchy lips are refreshing without being too out there, and vary to suit any skin tone, from bright pomegranate to more purple-pink hues. Plus, it looks great with a summer tan!
Not afraid to go all out? Choose a matte lipstick in a punchy shade like Palladio BECHIC lipstick in Tropical Punch, a bright coral shade. If you’re more color-shy, opt for a sheer gloss that still boasts a bright tint without looking quite so bold. Personally I’m a big fan of Stila Lip Glaze in Fruit Punch — it’s the perfect pinky-punch tone with plenty of shine. Tarte’s Double Dose Gloss in Pomegranate Punch is also fun and summery with its sheer tone and sparkle. No matter what kind of formula you choose, whether matte or sheer or sparkly, it’s easy to find a punchy shade you can pull off without looking too loud!

Is pink the new red this spring? Oh yeah! With the weather warming up, so does our makeup. Pink and coral lips are the “it” color beauty trends for Spring 2010. Here are a couple of my favorite pink and coral lip color shades. Stock up for spring!
1. Too Face Girls Dig Pearls Lip Gloss in Mermaid($18)- A pearlescent lip gloss that achieves radiant shine from real crushed sea pearls. It comes in several gorgeous pink shades but Mermaid, a pinkish beige shade is my favorite. You can wear it alone or on top of your lipstick for added glossiness.
2. Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips in April ($18)- This gloss is loaded with antioxidants that keeps lips moisturized and hydrated. It also slightly plumps your lips up too for a more sexier pout. I fell in love with April, a shimmering icy pink shade at first glance.
3. Cover Girl Shine Blast in Ignite ($7.99)- I’m a big fan of Cover Girl’s newest glosses because I love the high-gloss finish.
4. Nars Easy Lover Lip Gloss ($24)- This gloss is my favorite product from NARS Spring Collection. It is so pretty and all I can say is Easy Lover is so easy to love.
5. Bobbi Brown Metallic Lip Gloss in Coral Sand ($20)- A gorgeous coral hue. To be honest, I just love all the warm tones in Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals Collection.
