Guest post from my friends over at College Candy!

Oh, the glamorous life of college kids. From the lectures, to the parties, to the late night library sessions, to the awkward Sunday morning walk of shames. This is our weekly schedule. This is how we roll through the best four years of our life! Here in the Midwest, awkward weather has set in. One week, 85 degrees. And the next week? 36. This has caused much style confusion throughout campuses as I witness athletic shorts and tees worn to the clubs, denim shorts and tall UGG boots worn to the dining halls and even sequin dresses and wedges worn to class (uh, did you think this was Bar Hopping 101 or are you wearing your outfit from last night?). Granted, I’ve been a bit off myself. My thought process is along the lines of “60 degrees…warm enough for a short sleeve blouse but not enough for denim shorts?  It’s sunny and slightly warm out but my classrooms are already blasting out the cold air, so UGG boots and a tank top?” Awkward.

As your Budget Stylista, I’ve decided to go over affordable, proper spring attire for the library, classroom and local bar.

Spring Savings on Dresses (via College Candy)

Guest post from my friends over at College Candy!

Hallelujah. March 20th marked the first official day of spring! I’m sure winter didn’t put a damper on the partying habits of weekend warriors or college girls that go hard; however, I will admit my style took the backseat when venturing out on the weekends this winter (what, this parka & pair of UGGS aren’t “clubby” enough?). Sure, some black jeans and a cute blazer did the trick, but I’d pick a bonfire pregame and a dry walk to the bars over getting slush in my stilettos any day. To officially welcome warmer weather, dress up your wardrobe with some affordable fresh party threads via Forever21.

The Fanny Pack is BACK

Guest post from my friends over at College Candy!

And it’s better than the early 90s. Even celebrities like Rihanna have been sporting the fanny as of late. I couldn’t help but notice that this fashion artifact made multiple appearances at SXSW. I know fashion is cyclical, but is this really a trend we want to recycle?

hm exclusive conscious 2012

Watching celebs on the red carpet in gorgeous gowns has become as exciting as the runway for us fashion lovers especially now when these celebrity gowns are creating their very own trends. H&M has created an exclusive collection of red-carpet looks as part of its Conscious initiative. H&M Conscious Collections is mad from more sustainable materials such as organic cotton, hemp, and recycled polyester. This collection showcases diversity in greener fashion and styles reflecting the variety of today’s red carpet fashion. The collection has actually already been spotted on the red carpet.

Amanda Seyfried wore the blue tuxedo blazer and shorts at a London premiere, Oscar nominee Viola Davis has been seen in the hot-pink sleeveless top and skirt and Kristin Davis wore the apple green embroidered dress to a Vanity Fair event. Michelle Williams wore an H&M custom-made gold-draped organic cotton bodice with a satin-backed crepe trumpet skirt at this year’s BAFTAs in London. A top and skirt inspired by Michelle’s exclusive gown will be available in selected H&M stores when the Exclusive Conscious collection is launched.”

H&M Exclusive Conscious collection will be available starting April 12 in around 100 H&M stores worldwide as well as online.

Lauren Conrad just unveiled her fall 2012 Paper Crown Look Book. It features 14 year old model/actress Kalia Prescott, who just happens to be appearing on the Hunger Games. Lauren gives us a lot of fresh pieces for fall. I just love the soft and flowy dresses!
