For a long time now, I have always questioned the use of toners. What is its purpose? Is it necessary to put on before moisturizing? What can it do for my skin? This has been one of the most debated questions in skincare.
So why are toners often neglected in our daily skincare regimen? Well here’s a bit of background on toners. Toners are used after cleansing to keep the skin’s pH balanced and to protect the skin against bacteria which is great for acne prone skin. Toners make the skin feel clean and refresh. Toners are also known to tighten pores and removing excess traces of makeup. So far, toners sound great. Right?
So why the fuss? Are they really necessary? Some would say that it’s not for everyone. Toners are optimal for combination and/or oily skin. So people with mature, dry, and sensitive skin should just skip it. In today’s market, most cleansers are enough to properly cleanse the skin without the need of a toner. The last thing you want is to strip your skin of its natural oil. That will just increase oil production and worsen the problem. On the other hand, some might say that it is essential and loves the freshness that toners give after wearing a lot of makeup. It soothes the skin, moisturizers, and some provide antioxidants which helps improve the overall health of the skin. Skin type shouldn’t be a determing factor.
I too have oily skin so a toner is included in my daily regimen and I like how it leaves my skin extra clean. Is it necessary? Probably not, but if you are satisfied with the extra clean feeling after using it, then by all means continue. If you choose to use a toner, make sure to stay away from harsh astringents because they disturb the pH level and that just make your skin very oily. Look for toners that are gentle and alcohol free. Bliss Daily Detoxifying Facial Toner would be a good choice. It smooths, moisturizes, and provides antioxidant protection from environmental toxins. Talk about a triple threat.
Again if you love your toner and feel that it does improve your skin, then don’t stop using it. Truth is, I think this is a topic that will always be questionable.
What do you think? Are toners necessary?

Who knew that Calvin Klein would have a makeup collection. I just learned of this collection over the weekend. They have some pretty great stuff. ck Calvin Klein Makeup Collection has this great shimmer palette ($35) that’s new and great for summer. The palette comes in 4 great earthtone, shimmery colors (white pearl, pale gold, gold, bronze) that can be used on the face, and eyes. I swirled all four together and brushed it on my cheekbones. It really complimented me quite well and really brightened my face. This can be used for any skin tone and it’s definitely a must have for summer. I ended up buying one for myself.
I also bought ck Calvin Klein Delicious Pout Flavored Lipgloss ($13). Not only is the lipgloss great, the tube itself looks awesome. The lipgloss is very clear and transparent, which I like, and it has a hint of flavor. It’s also enriched in Vitamin E and Vitamin C, so you get sexy and healthy lips combined into one. I love it!

They have some great colors. I tried and bought ck Calvin Klein Delicious Pout in Dew Drop. It’s a light nude color and I feel really sexy it in. I am always a sucker for nude lip color because it compliments me so well.
Check out the CK Makeup collection at your nearest Sephora, or CK stores.

Hey all!
Skincare is very essential to maintain your skin’s beauty and health. I don’t know if you’ve notice but when it comes to our skin, we put more emphasis on the necessities, like the legs, back, butt, and arms. Basically the more appealing areas. But what about our lovely hands!!! Our hands are exposed to just about everything and unless you’re a hand model, the hands is one area that is often overlooked. So, we should properly take care of them.
I, however take care of my hands.
Bliss has a great moisturizer for the hands which also comes with a great pair of glamour gloves. The product, Bliss All You Need is Glove Set gives your hands great TLC from time to time. I just started using it for my hands and it leaves my hands super soft for hours. The moisturizer itself is filled with Vitamin E; but, the best part are the gloves. The gloves are gel lined with all kinds of moisturizing oils like grapeseed, jojoba, and olive oil, just to name a few. It really nourishes my hands, leaving it very soft and smooth. It looks like it’s been done professionally. No more dry hands for me!
I would definitely recommend this product so go check it out.
Well, that’s all for now. See you next week!!

People are always asking, “How do I minimize my pores?”. I sympathesize with you. So, I’m going to share with you some products that I have used and some other popular products that can help shrink and minimize pores.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More is a great pore minimizer product. It absorbs oil and improves skin’s complexion also. I’ve used this product for a long time and it definitely treats and camaflouages my pores. What’s great about this beauty product is that you can use as a primer.
DERMAdoctor Picture Porefect is another pore minimizer. I have never used it but heard good things about this product. I’m a big fan of DERMAdoctor because their products always deliver good results.

Rose Face Mask by fresh is a mask I use on my face once a week. It hydrates and tones the face while tightening pores. It’s infused with rose petals which leaves the skin relaxed and rejuvenated. Great product to buy.

Last but not least is Mineral Veil by Bare Escentuals. This is more of a powder that you should use in conjunction with makeup. The powder absorbs oil and minimizes the sight of your pores. It gives you that photo finish look. I use it all the time since I have oily skin. I can’t live without it.

Come back next time for more beauty and health tips.

Daily hair care is essential which is why I recommend hair products from Carol’s daughter. It has become very popular in reviving hair in just a short amount of time. It’s especially useful for women of color. I personally use their hair products which has brought beauty, health, and shine back to my hair. I’m always going through different products trying to find the best one to cure my dry and damaged hair. I finally found Carol’s daughter and it is a true winner in my eyes. My hair never looked so healthy using this product. My hair can’t live without Lisa’s hair elixir and hair balm. Lisa Hair Elixir is great on damaged hair and prevents breakage. I also enjoy the Tui Hair Oil which gives my hair softness and shine. It has a nice sweet smell too. The Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo with Sea Moss really helped with healing my dry, damaged hair along with Black Vanilla leave in conditioner. There are so many other hair products in her line but these 4 are my favorites and has really helped my hair look and feel healthy again. Carol’s daughter is definitely a one of a kind product line. You should also checkout the skincare line too!

Hey.
So I was at Sephora a couple of weeks ago doing my usual shopping and I came across a new beauty and health product from Bliss. Everyone has heard of FatGirlSlim but now they have just released a product called FatGirlSleep, a potent night time version of the famed skin firming lotion that get rids of your unsightly dimples as you snooze. I really like the product especially the sweet lavender smell. I’ve been using it for a week now and I am already seeing some differences in my skin. It has a very relaxing and aromatherapeutic effect. Good product to reduce your unsightly cellulite. ($38)

I have always been a fan of Tarte so I was excited when they came out with a new cheek blush stain. Tarte’s Natural Swirl Cheek Stain is a hot pick for summer. What makes it even better than the regular cheek stain is how it’s infused with T5 super fruit complex. A blend of goji, acai, maracuja, acerola, and pomagranate. Sweet Huh! Tarte combines two flattering shades which results in a fresh, healthy glow. Oh….. Here’s another bonus, it is filled with antioxidant rich nutrients and vitamins that is known to deliver antiaging benefits and restoring skin’s natural health and beauty. It goes well on any skin tone. Fabulous product. ($28)

Ready for the perfect summer tan. Well get ready because Mystic tan has came out with some new tanning products to help you get that summer tan in no time. Lots of raves on this product. Mystic Perfect tan kit helps you get rid of all your uncertainties of using an at home self-application tan. I tested it on myself and it does give you a natural looking tan. Price is not bad either. ($54) So, just another alternative to tanning on the beach and frying your skin.
