Now that it’s the beginning of a new year, I’m willing to bet that one of your new year’s goals is to eat healthier in an effort to slim down by summer. I completely understand because I’m in the same boat and I’m constantly searching for recipes that are not only super healthy but satisfying.
I came across this delicious bacon wrapped asparagus recipe from How Sweet Eats and after one glance, I knew I had to try it. This recipe is indulgent, but only a little bit since the bacon is very petite and includes plenty of veggies so you can enjoy it guilt-free. It looks fancy but it’s very simple to prepare. The combination of brown sugar, sesame oil and seeds, meaty bacon, and asparagus comes with loads of flavor and it taste so good.
This healthy veggie side dish would also be an ideal appetizer for dinner parties!
1 bunch of asparagus, about 20-25 spears, stems removed
4 slices thick-cut bacon
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
