Who says your part has to be perfectly straight? A zig-zag part is messy yet pretty at the same time. Seen straight from the spring 2013 runways, it’s a fun-yet-polish bedhead hairstyle that’s really easy to create.

Mix up your hairstyle this spring and try a diagonal part! The zig-zag parting should be miniscule, yet noticeable.

How-To:  BCBG Max Azria BedHead Hair

Laurent Philippon for Bumble and Bumble, the hairstylist of BCBG Max Azria spring 2013 show, described the hairstyle as “a girl who has bed head but still takes good care of her hair.”

Step 1. Part your hair in the center with a slight zigzag for a casual feel. This adds to the messiness of the whole hairstyle.

Step 2. Use a thickening spray to prep the hair and the using a flat brush, blow dry the hair to create a full looking hair.

Step 3. Once you are done blow drying the hair, add a styling wax on specific pieces of hair and sprinkle it with hair powder to get the messy bed head texture.

Step 4. Split the hair into sections and set it using pin curls. Let it set for 30 minutes before you loosen up the pins and let the hair fall loose around the face.

Thanks for the info. I have short hair, but my daughter is always asking me to do fun stuff to her hair. Great info!

Oh how I wish these hairstyles were around when I was young. I would have loved the bedhead look, my hair did it naturally.
