High bouffants is a great style for those who wants to add a bit more drama to their hair. Stars like Kim Kardashian, Emma Stone, and Adele have been seen rockin’ this hot trend. While some of these retro bouffants may seem a bit drastic for everyday wear, it’s very easy to create a more toned-down look.
To get this look, US Weekly provided a step-by-step below how-to below.
Fall 2012′s Beautiful Bouffants How-To:
1. First, start by sectioning off hair into three parts: left side, top, right side. Working with just the top section of hair (think mohawk), place a hot roller against scalp and wrap a two-inch section of hair around the base like you would with a curling iron. Star at front and place each roller behind one another to form a line down the center of your head. Set for 10 minutes to create volume at the crown. Try Danilo used T3 Voluminous Hot Rollers, $99.
2. Once you remove the rollers, let the hair cool and spray each section with Oribe Hair Care Dry Texturizing Spray to create and add texture.
3. Next, begin to back comb each section, except for the front section of the hair. When back-combing, use a bristle paddle brush or a teasing brush rather than a plain comb. This volume will be the foundation and oomph of your bouffant.
4. Lastly, gently pull un-backcombed hair over the backcombed hair and secure in place with bobby pins. Either leave your bouffant down, in a half-up, half-down ‘do, or pin the sides of your hair back to where the rest of the bobby pins are and twist the ends of your hair into a French twist for a complete updo.
