Brushing Happy with Tom’s of Maine

When I think about my journey to shop and eat natural/organic, I can’t help but smile because the transition process was a huge accomplishment for me. It all started with my desire to drop a couple of pounds. I was always a chubby kid and once I entered college, I made the conscious decision to lose weight and change my eating habits. I managed to lose 20 pounds and gained more knowledge on choosing the right foods to keep my body slim and healthy. It wasn’t long until I learned about natural and organic foods. I spent more time considering what to put in my body so I started switching out foods like meat and poultry with organic grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken, and etc.

Not only was I spending more time on what I was putting inside my body, but also what I put on the outside of my body. I love going through my kitchen cabinets to whip up a quick homemade hair mask and don’t get me started on how much I love buying organic soaps.

Actually, I find myself shopping more natural and organic these days. With my love for organic soaps, it wasn’t long before I looked into other personal care products like oral care. I’m a magnet for canker sores and when I use regular toothpaste, it can irritate my already sore mouth. I wanted to find a natural toothpaste that would make the brushing process less painful. I did and now I’m brushing happily with Tom’s of Maine.

One of my favorite natural & organic grocery stores is Sprout’s Farmer Market because they have a great personal care section (i.e. shampoos, deodorant, makeup, etc.) including a huge collection of Tom’s of Maine oral care products.

Tom’s of Maine is 100% natural and contains no artificial colors, synthetic flavors or fragrances, and artificial preservatives. Everything is sourced and derived from nature and I like that the ingredients list is simple to understand (no crazy ingredients!). After using a few tubes, I noticed the color in each one varies a bit which is completely normal and shows that it is free from all those artificial colors and flavors. The taste is some getting use to but in the end, it does what it’s suppose to do. It freshens my breath, whitens my teeth, and helps prevent plaque and tartar buildup. My teeth hasn’t looked this clean and tartar-free in a while and I’m sure my dentist will notice the change when I go to my next dental cleaning in 2 months.

The next time you head to your local Sprout’s store, be sure to stop by the personal care section to check out Tom’s of Maine oral care line (They have a deodorant line too!). You’ll also find many other natural items you might want to add to your daily beauty routine. Visit Toms of Maine’s website for more information on their personal care products.
