Musician Lana Del Rey became the newest face of H&M’s fall and winter advertising campaigns. Here she is donning a pink angora blend sweater, peach pants, faux-diamond chandelier earrings and big hair in this retro-looking pic. According to WWD, H&M is her first modeling gig and as part of the deal, Lana performed a cover of “Blue Velvet” for a “minifilm” that will be released on hm.com on September 19th. The film will be distributed globally too and edited versions will serve as TV ads for H&M.
H&M’s creative director, Donald Schneider told WWD that the mood of the campaign “is very L.A. noir,” so look for Del Rey to become even more jaded, gloomy, and dead-eyed femme fatalistic over the next few months.
