Prescriptives is Saying Farewell

prescriptives calyx I just found some shocking and sad news today. According to WWD, the cosmetic giant Estee Lauder is closing down the Prescriptives brand. The 30-year old beauty brand will say its final goodbye Jan. 31, 2010.

“We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see the highest growth potential,” said Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies.

I love Prescriptives! I can’t believe it’s going away. I will miss their blended makeup formulas. Time to start stocking up on your favorite Prescriptives products!

The world is coming to an END because Prescriptives is closing their doors. When I found out about it thru a mailer I received from Belks/Clinique I literally had a PANIC ATACK! This really STINKS! I have been using Prescriptives for over 15 years now.

I am devastated--I have used it for ten years and don't know what I will do now. It was the best thing out there as far as I am concerned.

sadly i agree, with shock i dont know where to go next. i have used everything from px even the hand cream. Worse part are our fondation I have used it and have spoiled my skin with all the products. the only thing i recommend is to stock up, until we hear anything else about its products.
Hope they come back. America needs PX

Well, I can't believe it. I have used Px for 30 years, I sold it in the past and I will never never use another Estee product. No one could ever duplicate their great way of finding the correct color, their Line Preventor was by Mr. Lauder's own comment "the finest product ever developed by the Estee Lauder Co". I am devastated and I don't know who I will ever buy makeup from again.
