It looks like the trends for Fall 2010 are going back to the 90’s grung-era but with a modern twist. Yes! I miss the 90’s. Everything from strong eyes, blunt bangs, spikey buns, orange and brown lips, nude face, and messy slept-in hair are the major trends that stood out to me at New York Fashion Week.

9 Big Beauty Trends for Spring 2010

I got the scoop on the hottest Spring beauty trends for 2010. Here’s the breakdown on hair, eyes, nails, cheeks and lips for spring.  I’m just itching for spring to arrive. I miss wearing my sandals!

1. Ballerina Buns

It’s one of the biggest hair trends this spring. Buns were also one of my favorite looks at the LANVIN Spring 2010 show. It’s time to start investing in bobby pins!

2.  Lower Lash Lines

False lower lash lines trend is giving your eyes a new look for spring. The look can be very dramatic and bold. Is this trend a go or would you pass on this one? Shu Uemura Premium Radiant Blue False Eyelashes $50

3. Braids

I always loved the fish tail braids. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to add style to your look. The hair style can be messy but still chic.

4. Crimped Textured Hair

I remember watching the Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2010 show and I was really excited to see crimped hair on the models. Crimped textured goddess hair is so in for spring!

5. Purple is Still On

Believe it or not, purple is still a favorite beauty trend rolling into spring.

6. Bright Lips

Bright lips at the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 show was the look. Pink or Red Lips? Both are great colors for spring but remember to keep the eye makeup subtle.

7. Give Me Shimmer

Spring is all about the shimmer. Pair it with a pink lip gloss… ooh la la! NARS Orgasm Illuminator leaves your skin luminous and radiant. Remember, a complexion that glows…goes! $29

8. Pastel Eyes

The 80’s trend is in full effect and will surely give your eyes some pop with shades of purples, blues, and cotton candy shadows.

9. Peach Lips

Coral peachy colors adds a soft touch to your face. It’s a shade that’s appropriate for any occasion. A bright peach lip was seen all down the runway last fall. A very popular spring beauty trend!

Fall 2009 Back To School Beauty Trends: Eyeshadows

Fall 2009 Back To School Beauty Trends: Eyeshadows

This fall, it’s all about the eyes and some of the colors I noticed repetitively down the runway was gray shades, natural colors, and candy-color shades. Here are some tips and product recommendation to get any of these 3 looks for back to school.

Gray Smoky Eyes

Gray is by far the “It” look this season! In the first picture above, you see different shades of gray while the lower lash line rimmed with black eyeliner for the perfect smokey eye effect.  I would recommend Dior Jazz Club Collection in 001. It has several different grays to play around with this fall.

Natural Eyes

The “no makeup look” is another popular trend this fall. It’s a great if you want a soft, clean, and natural appearance. Suggestion: Add a bright lip to complete the look. Check out Smashbox Eyelights Eyeshadow Palette in Beam.

Candy Color Eyes

During the Christian Dior show, you could not find a model that didn’t have the candy-colored look. I was even more drawn to it when I saw this particular model in the picture above wearing the exact same look at Sephora. Absolutely gorgeous! I would recommend NARS Duo Eyeshadow ($32). Fall 2009 Back To School Beauty Trends: Dark Lips

Here’s a beauty trend that you’ll either love or hate. Dark lips is the must have beauty look this fall and you can work the dark trend for any occasion.

Get the dark lips look from any of these fab lipsticks!

  1. Givenchy Rouge Interdit Lipstick in Black Plum- It’s more than just a lipstick. It adds sexy, light-reflective , dramatic color to the lips as it nourishes and moisturizes with powerful antioxidants. Longwearing lipstick that melts right onto the lips. Perfect for achieving the gothic-inspired look seen all through the fall runways.
  2. Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Red Premiere- Cherry red lipstick is both innocent and sensual and is a very classic look. It’s very much a popular lip color this fall that’s so alluring. This long-wearing  lipstick  gives the perfect  coverage and shine as it hydrates the lips.
  3. M.A.C. Satin Lipstick in Film Noir- Another almost black dark lipstick that is hot, hot, hot! Film Noir, an intense brown shade from M.A.C. Cosmetics, is a great lip trend to wear on the streets.
  4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Spicy Cinnamon- Here’s a fashionable shade that is full of mega-moisturizers, Vitamin C and E. I fell in love with this color when I saw Jessica Alba wearing this exact shade in a Revlon ad while flipping through Allure Magazine September issue. The color just screams fall and another popular look for back to school.
  5. Urban Decay Lipstick in Oil Slick- This is not your typical highschool goth lipstick. Oil slick is very glossy infused with shimmer and sparkles that nourishes the lips. This is the ultimate dramatic lip color!

Stay tuned for more back to school beauty trends for fall 2009!
