Burberry To Launch Cosmetics Line This Summer

Actress, Emma Watson has made us love Burberry again and now, the British brand will give us another reason to pull out our credit card with the introduction of their new cosmetics line launching this summer. The line includes powder foundation, bronzer, blush, pressed powder, liquid foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip gloss, lipstick, lip liner, and mascara. A full makeup line!

Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey told WWD: “It started because I felt that, at shows and the shoots, the whole attitude is epitomized through the shoes, the bags, the clothes, the accessories, but then the face was the one thing I really struggled with. When we were doing makeup, I felt like we weren’t able to get the right attitude. It was either caked-on makeup or then just the wrong colors, the wrong tones, the wrong spirit for makeup. I wanted it to be this kind of effortless elegance. Like the trenchcoat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time.”

Their iconic trench theme is noted throughout the line with its beige outer cartons and its packaging itched in Burberry’s signature check plaid. The collection will retail from $24 to $59 at Nordstrom’s (US)  in July 2010.

I must applaud Burberry for their newest SS10 campaign. Very simple yet stylish. I’m surely a fan! Emma Watson is still their front girl for the brand and she looks great showing off Burberry’s latest pieces. Emma Watson is alongside her brother Alex and musician George Craig for the Burberry ads shot by Mario Testino.

Emma Watson will remain the face for Burberry so I’ll be looking forward to Burberry’s next campaign.
