in Spring

Here’s a first look at Chanel’s newest Spring 2012 Makeup Collection: Harmonie de Printemps. The collection features soft pinks and peaches for the ultimate natural beauty look. It’s the perfect mix of colors to play with for spring and summertime.
From the break of dawn to the descent of twilight, skies reveal an enchanting array of hues with the arrival of Spring. Inspired by this brilliant seasonal change, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, infused glowing, sunlit colour into the Spring 2012 Makeup Collection, HARMONIE DE PRINTEMPS. Subtle gradations of rose, coral and peach sculpt the face, giving it a soft radiance, while rich garnets and vivid pinks dress the lips.
Blush Horizon de Chanel / Glowing Blush Harmony (Retail $58.00)
In one elegant compact, five pink and peach tones mimic the luminous hues of sunset. This limited edition powder blush lends itself to multiple effects: blended together, the harmony is ideal for sculpting and accentuating the natural contours of the face. Using just the pink shades creates a fresh, youthful flush, while on their own, the peach tones produce a warm, sun-bronzed glow.

in nails

Way over here in San Francisco, we’re jealous that we can’t attend Fashion’s Night Out in person, but that’s not why we have the blues! For those of you beauty trend-spotters who wait with baited breath for the latest nail polish collection from the chicest lacquer guru around, Chanel, look no further than Fashion’s Night Out special branded offerings. In honor of the ultra-fabulous occasion, Chanel has launched a trio of sophisticated polishes, collectively named Les Jeans de Chanel. Yup, you guessed it – these lacquers attempt to channel a classy, modern way to incorporate cool blue tones into your beauty look and at the same time seek to be as easy to wear as your favorite pair of blue jeans… that is, if you can get your hands on them in the first place! Put yourself on the wait list and pray that you’ll eventually be a lucky owner of the special-edition Blue Rebel (navy), Coco Blue (powdery sky blue), or Blue Boy (a steely slate blue). Unless of course, you don’t think these matte blue shades are fabulous enough to wait for!

in Fall

Last month, Chanel released pics from its Byzantine-inspired pre-fall 2011 collection and the now the brand has launched a makeup collection inspired by the same theme. Chanel Byzance Collection for Fall 2011 is by far one of my favorite makeup collections for the upcoming season. The makeup shades are super glam that can accentuate any facial feature. The quartet-eyeshadow palette is my favorite because I just love the earthy tones!
Regarde Signe de Chanel (Retail $65.00)
Beloved by Mademoiselle Chanel, the opulence of Byzantine art served as muse for this quartet of creamy powder eyeshadows. Copper, taupe, gold and bronze, touched with shimmer and light, create mesmerizing effects. Limited Edition. Available in Topaki.
Joues Contraste (Retail $43.00)
- Or- light shimmering shade of gold that brings luminosity to the face
- Rouge- Subtle red shade, with small traces of gold and pearlized shimmer
Rouge Allure
- Rouge Byzantin- ruby red with a hint of sapphire
The collection is now available at Chanel.com.

So what can we gather from Chanel’s Pre-fall 2011 campaign? The eyeliner is back! The campaign stars model Alejandra Alonso and shot by Karl Lagerfeld for the Byzantium empire inspired fall 2011 collection. Director of Chanel Makeup, Peter Phillips and hairstylist Sam McKnight created this campaign look. I love the makeup look. Much focus is around the eyes while the lips appear subtle and easily unnoticed.
