Estée Lauder introduces The Pure Color Modern Mercury Collection for Fall 2011. This limited edition collection is a texturally graphic collection inspired by modern, avant-garde architecture. The focus is on molten metallic eyes with a soft shimmering canvas with edgy matte lips and a twisted shade of green on the nails to compliment. Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted the collection at the Derek Lam Fall 2011 show.
Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee (Retail $40.00)
A new “tribrid” system of liquid, powder and gel revolutionizes makeup application and wear with the new Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée. This first-of-a-kind, “multi-powder” formula creates a theatrical blur of shimmer on the skin when applied dry and a fierce flush of color when applied wet. The unique suspension of golden pigments and pearls float on top of the skin, resulting in a truly unique sensorial experience for skin. The futuristic powder is flexible and uses a luminosity boosting complex that makes the complexion appear perfectly smooth, sexy and glowing with a polished finish.

Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia Pure Color Collection is the new vision for color this fall. Expect dramatic make up, smoldering eyes, shimmering lips and bold nails. The Creative Makeup Director of Estee Lauder, Tom Pecheux debuted this collection backstage at the Derek Lam Autumn/Winter 2010 Fashion Show. The collection includes two distinct looks as well as two complimentary lip products that create a visionary, avant-garde look with a touch of whimsical glamour.
I love the blue shades in this collection. Also, there are lots of intense eyeshadow colors in different textures. I love that! It’s definitely worth checking out.
“The beauty of the palettes is that you can create many looks ranging from neutral to dramatic. For a neutral look, use shades 1 and 3. To add more color, blend shades 2 and 4 to your desired intensity and line the eye with shade 5. I want women to play and have fun with the colors!” – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder
“The blues and purples in the collection are iconic colors for autumn and winter. I like to give women choices in the way that they look. From a neutral to a smoky to a fashionable, strong look, these shades can be used with them all.” – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder

Estee Lauder brings us a special limited-edition collection just in time for Valentine’s Day. The collection called Love Your Lips is perfect for the cold winter season and for sexy, kissable lips for V-Day. The limited-edition set features a lipstick and lipgloss that will leave your lips hydrated, smooth and gorgeous with sexy new shades.
Hydra Lustre Lipstick Love seals in moisture and color for hours. It is very light on the lips but leaves a rich and creamy finish. The word “LOVE” is branded on the lipstick with the letter O shaped as a heart. Very clever and cute!
Lipstick shades:
- Radiant Wine
- Rich Berry
- Spanish Red
- Lustrous Pink
- Radiant Rose
- Cherry Kiss
- Perfect Pink
- Chelsea Rose
- Pink Kiss
- Lush Rose
- Portofino Coral
- Coral Kiss
Kissable Lipgloss leaves a glossy finish with high shine and a hint of shimmer. I do love shimmer! You can wear it on top of your lipstick or dare to wear it alone for a sheer glossy look.
Lipgloss shades:
- Coral Kiss
- Cherry Kiss
- Pink Kiss
- Sweet Kiss
The Limited edition collection is now available at Estee Lauder counters and EsteeLauder.com

I just found some shocking and sad news today. According to WWD, the cosmetic giant Estee Lauder is closing down the Prescriptives brand. The 30-year old beauty brand will say its final goodbye Jan. 31, 2010.
“We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see the highest growth potential,” said Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies.
I love Prescriptives! I can’t believe it’s going away. I will miss their blended makeup formulas. Time to start stocking up on your favorite Prescriptives products!
How do you feel about Prescriptives closing down?
