I love black eyeliner and white eye shadow, but I particularly love them together. I was on Pinterest the other day setting up my “CC Beauty Live Inspiration” board, follow me and CollegeCandy and you can pin stuff at us! I came across this cool eyes make up photo above, which looked super easy and seemed like the perfect winter eye look.

While prepping for a typical night out, I tend to stick to my tried-and-true smoky eye makeup look, complete with plenty of mascara and glossy nude lips. However, in taking a cue from the fabulous Studio 54 era, I’m loving the idea of 70s-inspired frosty metallic shadow that’s beautiful and bold with a totally different sense of drama! For a vivid chromed look, try Illamasqua Liquid Metal eyeshadow in Surge for a dramatic foiled look, then complete the effect with a gunmetal liner like Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner. To balance your dramatic chrome peepers, make sure skin has a smooth, even base — makeup artist Lisa Eldridge recommends Diorskin Nude Compact Gelee for perfect lightweight coverage — and make sure brows are neat and clean with the help of a tinted brow gel. Don’t forget to gloss lips with a high-shine shade that’s just a tad peachier than your natural lip color, like Lancome Juicy Tubes gloss in Spring Fling!

When applying eyeshadow, usually you’ll pick a primer to keep your eye makeup on longer but, what if you don’t have a primer and you have less than 20 minutes to get ready? Should I panick if I ran out of my primer?
No worries because a primer isn’t the only way to keep your eye makeup in place. Just follow these 3 steps and you’ll be good to go!
Step 1:
Grab your concealer and smear across your eyelids then top it off with a loose powder.
Step 2:
Grab your eyeshadow brush and wet it. That’s right…wet it. It keeps the eyeshadow in place and intensifies the color.
Step 3:
Apply your eyeshadow. If you have a cream-based eyeshadow, apply that first then the powder eyeshadow. Your eyeshadow color will surely POP!
I use this method everytime and it never fails me. For eyeshadows that stands on its own for long-lasting color, try brands like MAC, Make Up For Ever, Illamasqua, and Bobbi Brown.
I hope you enjoyed my beauty tip of the week!
