halloween makeupHappy Monday! It’s a new week of fabulous beauty and skincare products. Today I want to share with you some great beauty products for Halloween since it’s near. I was at Sephora this weekend and they had several great beauty items for Halloween. So, I’ll share with you a couple of them that caught my attention and maybe yours too!

Check out this exotic eye kit from ColorOn EyeEnvy. This screams Halloween makeup. I love it! This is a one size fits all mineral cream eyeshadow application. This product comes with different types of animal print shadows where you place over your eyes and peel off. It’s long wearing, crease proof, and is 100% hypoallergenic. The colors are fabulous. If only I still had my leopard print costume….Oh well.

Philosophy Haunted House Set

I told myself that this Halloween I wouldn’t touch any candy and tame my sweet tooth; however, that doesn’tHalloween Beauty Must Haves mean I can’t bathe in it. No! I’m not crazy. I’m talking about Philosophy’s Haunted House Set, a trio with sweet tasting scents: Pumpkin Spice Muffin, Black Licorice, and Caramel Apple. Yummy! So far I’ve only tried the Caramel Apple and I must admit the scent is utterly divine. I can’t get enough of it. This trio of sweet-scenting high foaming shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath will leave your skin cleansed, soft, and tasty!

Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case

halloween beautyHalloween is a great time to play around with fun, bright colors so check out this 12 palette makeup kit from Make Up For Ever. These 12 vibrant colors are used by several makeup artists. Some people would probably scream because the colors are so bright but have no fear if you’re using it as Halloween beauty. You can create an array of looks with this makeup kit. It can be used for the eyes, lips, and cheeks. I would go crazy with this kit because I love the colors.

So there you have it. Some great beauty must haves for Halloween.

Change Your Eye Color with Color ContactsHey!

Here’s a great way to change your look: Change your eye color. Color contacts are IN and so many people are following this trend. I myself have tried color contacts in the past and I must say it was fun to be a hazel-eye beauty for a week. People change their eye color all the time for several reasons. They probably want to look prettier or more appealing, they want to look more dramatic, or they just liked how a certain color looked on another person. It’s great to experiment with and if you’re the type that likes to be the center of attention, then color contacts is for you. Now one might ask: “How do I find the right color?”
This can be a challenge for newbies but I found a solution to that. There’s a great site called LensShopper.com that has a Virtual Color Studio and it’s really cool. They have several of colors to choose from. They also have subjects, both men and women of different races which you can test on. After using the Virtual Color Studio you should have no problem finding color contacts that works for you. Also check out this link so it can show you the proper way to put on contact lenses: www.lensshopper.com/remember.asp

So, add some color to your life and go check out LensShopper.com Virtual Color Studio.
It’s a great way to change your look….Even if it’s for a day!

One would think, “That’s impossible.” But these days anything is possible. Tarte just came out with a new mascara that last for 4 days on your lashes. That’s right 4 DAYS!!! It’s called Tarte 4 Day Stay Lash Stain($18) and it gives long lasting pigment on your lashes keeping them soft and flexible without fading. So you could jump in the pool, go in the shower and it will still stay on. I’m going to go try this myself and I’ll let you know if it really works!

5 Steps to a Basic Smokey Eye Look

by Diana Ajih on May 22, 2008

in eyes

Smokey eyes is a big trend right now and I don’t see it ending very soon. The key to smokey eyes is perfect blending. You want the colors to blend in flawlessly. It is very easy to do and it doesn’t take much time to do it. Here are step by step instructions I will share with you on getting smokey eyes the right way.

Step 1. Prepare your eyelids

The last thing you want is to have your eye makeup melt into your eyelid crease. So, you will want to keep your eyelids oil-free. Use an eye primer on your eye lids first before putting on eyeshadow. MAC’s paint is a good primer to use.

Step 2. Apply eyeliner

Depending on what type of eyeshadow color you want to achieve, apply eyeliner on your upper lids that is the same color as your eyeshadow. So if you looking at black, brown or grey eyes, use the same color eyeliner or if you are interested jeweled color eyes such as purple, dark green, and blue, use that eyeliner color or a darker shade like black instead. Make sure that when you are drawing the line, the middle eyelids have a thicker line.

Step 3. Blend color on bottom lashes

You will want to use a lighter color eyeliner for the bottom eye. The key is to smudge. You can use a little bit of eyeshadow to help smudge the bottom eyelid.

Step 4. Apply a light base color

This part is what gives the smokey eye effect. The point is to blend a lighter color with a darker hue. Dust a light shimmery base on your eye lids up to the brow bone. (I use a pearl color on my eyes :) ). Then blend in with the darker color but make sure to keep the darker color below the crease. Use a dark eyeshadow and brush the eye lids starting at the lash line and then working your way up. Make sure to blend the eyeshadow at the lash line to make sure the eyeliner is no longer seen. Use a Q-tip if needed to blend color.

Step 5. Apply mascara.

Finish the eyes with several coats of mascara. My mascara of choice: Diorshow mascara. That’s the mascara I use and it is fabulous. If you want to do something more fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It definitely makes blue eyes pop.

5 Steps to a Basic Smokey Eye Look5 Steps to a Basic Smokey Eye Look

Here’s another quick tip. Make sure to wear nude color lipgloss. You want to draw attention to your smokey eyes. The last thing you want to do is to wear a lipgloss that takes away from the eyes. Make sure to keep all focus on the eyes, so don’t wear lip gloss color such as red. It’s too distracting and it looks TACKY!

That’s all I have for today. Come back next time for more beauty secrets.
