Fall 2009 Back To School Beauty Trends: Cat Eye Look

Cat Eyes is the must-have look this fall and is amongst my favorite beauty trends this season. The cat eye makeup look is very glamourous, dramatic, yet very tricky to create. The look takes time, accuracy, and a bit of precision. I’m going to show you how to get the cat eye makeup look by including several needed makeup products.

1. Use an eye primer to make sure your eye look stays in place and last. One of my favorites is Urban Decay Primer Potion. It’s the best! Retail $17.

2. Sweep a neutral shade on your eyelids. Pick something that is close to your skin tone. I use Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Earth Reflection. Highlight your brow bone with a slightly lighter shade from the palette.

3. Using a small lash liner brush like Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Liner Brush trace a thin line across the upper lash line and wing it out at the end with Thierry Mugler Eyesculpt in Black. For the lower lash line, use Bare Escentuals Insider Eyeliner in Onyx.

4. Finish the look with a dark mascara like Chanel Inimitable Waterproof in Black.

Here’s a beauty trend that you’ll either love or hate. Dark lips is the must have beauty look this fall and you can work the dark trend for any occasion.

Get the dark lips look from any of these fab lipsticks!

  1. Givenchy Rouge Interdit Lipstick in Black Plum- It’s more than just a lipstick. It adds sexy, light-reflective , dramatic color to the lips as it nourishes and moisturizes with powerful antioxidants. Longwearing lipstick that melts right onto the lips. Perfect for achieving the gothic-inspired look seen all through the fall runways.
  2. Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Red Premiere- Cherry red lipstick is both innocent and sensual and is a very classic look. It’s very much a popular lip color this fall that’s so alluring. This long-wearing  lipstick  gives the perfect  coverage and shine as it hydrates the lips.
  3. M.A.C. Satin Lipstick in Film Noir- Another almost black dark lipstick that is hot, hot, hot! Film Noir, an intense brown shade from M.A.C. Cosmetics, is a great lip trend to wear on the streets.
  4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Spicy Cinnamon- Here’s a fashionable shade that is full of mega-moisturizers, Vitamin C and E. I fell in love with this color when I saw Jessica Alba wearing this exact shade in a Revlon ad while flipping through Allure Magazine September issue. The color just screams fall and another popular look for back to school.
  5. Urban Decay Lipstick in Oil Slick- This is not your typical highschool goth lipstick. Oil slick is very glossy infused with shimmer and sparkles that nourishes the lips. This is the ultimate dramatic lip color!
