H&M

While we’re freezing our butts off this cold season, brands are launching their spring  2012 lookbooks and I must say it’s pretty hard to be thinking about spring attire, when staying warm in cozy sweaters and jackets is on my mind 24/7. I sure don’t enjoy this time of the year, so it’s refreshing to see covetable sunny-weather ensembles that will most likely end up in my closet three months from now.

H&M Spring 2012 lookbook is just another reminder of how close yet so far away we are from the spring season. Model Liya Kebede warms up the sandy shots in this H&M lookbook and I can’t help but feel green with envy.  H&M takes us to the tropics with the latest launch of spring 2012 collection titled, “Wake Up to Spring.”

H&M presents us with classic stripes, bright solids, floral blouses, wide leg trousers,  silky tops, and more lovely 70-inspired pieces.

Here’s an early sneak peek of the H&M spring 2012 collection!

marni for h&m

H&M next designer collaboration is……. Marni. The collection will feature women and mens wear, shoes, jewelry bags, and scarves. The Marni for H&M collection will hit 260 H&M stores and online on March 8, 2012.

So, what should we expect from this collection? So far, lots of African-inspired tribal prints and colorful graphics.

“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints,” explains Consuelo Castiglioni. “As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements.”

Here’s more from the H&M press release:

”For women, the colors are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler color blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. For men, the colors and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics.”

h&m spring 2012 collection

I know you’re probably thinking it’s too soon to start lusting over Spring 2012 fashion with Winter on the way, but this new H&M collection is surely the exception. H&M Spring 2012 collection is full of on-trend pieces you’ll lust over next season. The collection features fresh pieces modeled by Kinga Rajzak such as collarless blazers, skirts and blouses in neon hues, asymmetric blouses, pale and pretty cardigans, colorblocked wedges and heels.

This collection adds a touch of femininity to these modern cuts.

”I love the well-dressed, grown-up mood of the season” said H&M’s head of design, Ann-Sophie Johansson, “It’s still very wearable and can be styled in so many different ways.”

I’m officially obsessed with the entire collection. It’s so hard for me to choose favorites so I’ll ask you instead: What are some of your favorite pieces?

hm_trish-summerville

H&M has partnered with Trish Summerville, the costume designer for the upcoming The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo film, to create a 30-piece collection landing in stores December 14th. The collection is inspired by the heroine of the film, Lisbeth Sander’s style – a mix of edge with a bit of grit.

The collection will feature leather jackets, hoodies, slouchy cardigans, lace-up boots, torn jeans, and more. For accessories, you’ll find tribal-style jewelry, thick knit scarves, and weather-beaten backpacks. Prices will range from $3.99-$199.

First Look: Versace for H&M Full Collection!

by Diana Ajih on October 20, 2011

in news

It’s finally here! H&M has finally revealed the Versace for H&M full collection. Thanks Vogue UK for having it up! The collection will hit H&M stores November 17th 2011. Price will range from $17.99 to $299 which is a little pricey for H&M, but far less for Versace.

“The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own,” says Donatella Versace.

So what can we expect from the collection?

Expect bold colors and bright prints, grecian pieces, and iconic dresses. There’s also homeware items like pillows and throw blankets too. Awesome!

by Diana Ajih on October 11, 2011

in news

Looks like H&M continues to dripfeed more pictures from the Versace for H&M collection which is slated to hit stores November 19, 2011. I’m anxiously waiting for the full release of this collection but these teasers continues to build on the anticipation.

This time, H&M released pictures of Abbey Lee Kershaw wearing a couple of mini dresses (love the black leather minidress!) and cool accessories.

Are you super psyched about the Versace for H&M collection as I am?
