Here’s a sneak peek at Illamasqua Freak Eau de Parfum that’s launching in October 2011.
“Illamasqua is undoubtedly the most vibrant and fastest growing British make-up brand of this generation. When creating all the elements of this fragrance, from the scent to the bottle, the packaging to the image, the prime focus has been to deliver a groundbreaking concept that delivers an irresistible assault on the senses, whether you have heard of the Illamasqua brand or not. Freak by Illamasqua has succeeded on every point of that intention. Illamasqua make-up captures the essence of night-time transformations, unleashing your alter ego and celebrating self-expression. We have now managed, with great care, to distil that attitude into a fragrance and bottle it. It’s time to dress up and howl at the moon. Get your Freak on!” — Joseph Corre, Illamasqua Joint MD
Illamasqua Freak Eau de parfum has top notes of Black Davana, Opium Flower, and belladonna that charms the senses into unrestrainable lust and passion, heart notes of Poison Hemlock, Datura, and Queen of the Night, and base notes of Frankincense, Oud, and Myrrh, that obsessively captures the senses.
Along with the launch of Freak parfum, Illamasqua has also created a capsule collection featuring three limited edition products, whose shades reflect the rare blooms that make up this most exotic of scents.
- Nail Varnish in Hemlock (pale opal green iridescent)
- Pure Pigment in Queen of the Night (blackened plum)
- Sheer Lipgloss in Datura (neutral mauve)

Illamasqua gives us something to cheer about this upcoming holiday season. Here’s a sneak peek at its newest holiday 2011 collection: Theatre of the Nameless.
Descend into the riotous scene of erotic adventure that is THE THEATRE OF THE NAMELESS, nocturnal den of the dissident leaders of underworld subcultures. Exotic dancers rub shoulders with expressionist actors and performers; nudists and Boot Girls openly compete for the Conférencier’s eye; and all participate in the Club’s endless, pleasure-seeking rituals, immersing themselves in a heady world of sensual delight …
Teased by the sweet, pungent tang of opium, the air throbs with the electric shock of lovers’ flesh. Dare to feel the intensity of the club’s intimate caress, and abandon yourself to the glorious wonders of unfettered night-time make-up.
“Theatre Of The Nameless is a heady mixture of opulent hues, decadent pigments and fearless application. A bruised and burnished pallet that gives a sensual slip that bleeds colour into colour, worn through and kissed off.” — Alex Box, Illamasqua Creative Director
Infused with the essence of self-expression that transformed 1920s Berlin, this rich and indulgent collection envelops the senses. Darkly sophisticated tones are accompanied by shocks of dazzling iridescence, creating a breathtakingly modern interpretation of the most illicit nightlife in history.
It’s time to cross the threshold and embrace a world of unadulterated decadence …

If everything you know about Brit-based beauty brand Illamasqua is what you’ve learned from what Sephora carries, then you’re at least familiar with the fact that “color-shy” would not be an accurate descriptor. With company roots stemming from the 1920′s club scene, it’s no wonder that the costume-y brand has evolved over the years to be wearable, yet still undeniably bold — boasting a collection of slick, sticky glosses, edgy nail shades, and opaque cream shadows with seriously impressive color pay-off, whether chrome, metallic, or rainbow-bright. It’s no surprise then, that when it comes to Valentine’s Day beauty, the brand is not about soft pinks and romantic rosy hues. We’re talkin’ passionate reds, inky blacks, and stark white shades — imagine a love-scorned Queen of Hearts for inspiration… if she actually had a heart, that is.
The ‘Throb’ collection for V-Day 2011 is a 5-piece mini collection of 2 lip colors and 3 nail lacquers, meant to highlight a woman’s most seductive feature (her lips, of course) with a fierce manicure to match. While the nail varnishes — Throb (red), Load (white), and Scorn (black) — aren’t shades we haven’t seen before, I’m inspired to mimic the model’s three-toned Valentine’s-inspired French manicure! And the lip shades (Succubus gloss and Sangers lipstick) are such a juicy true red, even I’m swayed to stray from my signature taupe gloss!
