Last week I gave you a sneak peek of the Jason Wu for Target collection and now the complete Jason Wu for Target collection is here! Target finally released images of the complete lookbook and I must say I’m impressed with the variety of eye-catching yet wearable pieces.
“My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu says. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”
I’d say he accomplished just that! The collection is packed with pleats, bold colors of red and navy, pretty blouses, peter pan collared dresses, floral prints, structured handbags, and more of Jason Wu’s aesthetically-pleasing style. Love it!
If that doesn’t get you excited, maybe the prices will. Pieces range from $19.99 to $59.99 for clothes and $19.99 to $49.99 for accessories. If you ever dreamed of owning a Jason Wu design, here’s your chance. Unfortunately the collection is only available from February 5th to March 6th.
Oh how I adore fashion collaborations! I loved the Missoni for Target, Versace for H&M, and I’ll pretty sure I’ll adore Jason Wu’s upcoming line with Target. The Jason Wu for Target collaboration is now only a month away and with the release of his print campaign, we now have a first look at what’s to come from his Target line. Jason Wu signature lady-like style is beloved by Hollywood starlets and First Lady Michelle Obama, so it’s no surprise to see that same femme vibe in this collection. Judging by the models featured in the campaign, expect dresses with peter pan collars, pastel tones, colorful accents, ladylike handbags, and knits.
Just yesterday, Target started dropping hints on Twitter about who their next designer collaboration will be and now it’s confirmed that Jason Wu is the next Target designer. The line will be available starting February 5 through March 6, 2012. Prices will be a reasonable starting from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags. I’m so looking forward to this new line from Target. It probably wont cause as much of a frenzy like Missoni’s collaboration but that’s okay. I’m just excited that it’s Jason Wu because I love his ladylike designs.
“The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before,” Wu told WWD. “My collection for Target is chic and wearable. I think women everywhere will enjoy it.”
Peep out his spring 2012 collection!
Now you all may be wondering what his collection will actually look like. I was too until Target posted a photo of a colorful print and sketches. Jason Wu’s current muse for his line- a cat named Milu. Wu told WWDthat his collection “features clothes and accessories that are easily convertible from day to evening — sophisticated, feminine dresses, mix-and-match separates and playful accessories all with a bit of charm and dressed-up attitude.”
Pics still not enough? Check out this video!
Sounds exciting! More Jason Wu and Target news to come so I’ll keep everyone posted!
Hey All! Here’s a peek at some of my favorite designers from Day 2 at New York Fashion Week!
Peter Som
DESIGNER: Peter Som
INSPIRATION: “It was truly about things my friends wanted to wear,” Peter Som explained of his Fall 2011 collection. “Everyday but heightened and with a touch of quirk.”
TOP LOOKS: long sleeve sequin jersey dresses, colorful prints, sequin pants, tuft of fur on jacket sleeves and on dress hems, dark and neutral wool tailoring
TOP COLORS: black, orange, graphic prints, metallic, navy, gray
ACCESSORIES: bright, two-toned Charlotte Olympia shoes, kitten heels
MY THOUGHTS: I love the mix of bright oranges with dark palettes. The tuft of fur is an interesting look and the finale blue-sequin dress was truly a gem. Overall this collection speaks sophistication.
