Solid perfume may not be your fragrance consistency of choice in all situations, but as far as touching up on the go is concerned, I’d say it’s your best bet! Bringing along travel versions of perfume is the ideal way to freshen up on the go, and rollerballs of your standard full-size bottles are cute and convenient, but let’s face it – liquid perfume of any size or quantity can still be a disaster waiting to happen, unless you’re freakishly organized with your travel cosmetics. Solid perfumes eliminate the possibility of a smelly spill, especially when applying on the bus or on the run, plus they come in super-cute packages that are too adorable to resist!

I especially love Marc Jacobs Daisy solid perfume necklace, which is much daintier and more discreet than most cosmetics-jewelry hybrids, and Hanae Mori’s solid perfume ring, which is slightly gaudier in a cute, costume jewelry sort of way. However, if you’re not into wearing your perfume compact on your sleeve (or around your neck), plenty of fragrances like Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy scent comes in a slim palette that’s perfect for keeping on hand for quick touch-ups. Plus, in the sticky, sweaty months ahead, solid perfume tends to last longer on skin than a spritz or two of your favorite spray — just be careful not to overcompensate by slathering on too much! Just a dab or two will do!
