10 Best Body Moisturizers To Stick With This Winter

by Diana Ajih on January 4, 2012

in skin

Has the winter months already caused havoc to your skin? Hydrating your skin is a must to avoid the tight and painful feel of dry skin. A powerful body moisturizer always does the trick but now the question is: Which one?

Here are the 10 best body moisturizers I’ve tried and recommend for soft, silky skin.

best body moisturizers

1. The Body Shop Body Butter ($18)

Product Description: An intensive, creamy all-over body lotion. It absorbs easily, helping to condition, soften and smooth the skin, and to prevent dryness, leaving your skin moisturized for up to 24 hours.

My Thoughts: I’ve been a fan of The Body Shop’s Body Butter since highschool. It’s very hydrating and I love that there’s a whole line with a number of delightful scents.

2. L’Occitane Shea Butter ($39)

Product Description: New Organic & Fair Trade Fair trade Certification / New formula enriched with vitamin E for better stability.

My Thoughts: A great body moisturizer that’s all natural. It’s a bit on a high end but it’s really good at smoothing out rough hands and feet. Powerful stuff!

3. Eucerin Calming Creme Daily Moisturizer ($9.59)

Product Description: This gentle, non-greasy formula combines calming oatmeal and natural emollients for softer, healthier, more comfortable skin.

My Thoughts: I’ve been a fan of Eucerin for years so it wasn’t a hard choice when Eucerin approached me to become a SkinFirst Movement Ambassador. I tried so many of their products but I have to say the Calming Creme is my favorite. It’s non-greasy and is really good at relieving dry, itchy skin caused by winter weather.

4. Burt Bee’s Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion ($8.00)

Product Description: Creamy and sweet—and just what your skin needs to feel loved from head to toe.

My Thoughts: Smells and works fantastic! I love how they upgraded the tube too!

5. Jergen’s Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer ($7.79)

Product Description: Rich cocoa, mango and Shea butters deeply condition for 3x more radiant-looking skin.

My Thoughts: I stole this from my mom actually and instantly fell in love with it. The shea butter leaves my skin super soft!

The Warmest Winter Accessories

by Diana Ajih on December 20, 2011

in trendsetters

Stay warm while looking stylish this winter. Want the season’s hottest gloves or trendiest scarves? How about a cozy hat to add to your look? I’ve put together the warmest winter accessories that will keep you feeling warm and looking chic.

Winter Hats

I’m usually not a hat person but the winter season is the only time I’d consider wearing one. Some of the emerging hat trends this season are the pompoms, the classic beanie, and yes…the furry trapper hats (so adorable). Wearing a hat is not just a cool trend but a necessity while in the cold. The warmer the head, the warmer your whole body will feel.

Best Gloves and Wrist Warmers for Winter

by Diana Ajih on November 9, 2009

in trendsetters

gloves-introNow that Halloween has come and gone, it means it’s only going to start getting colder.  Bundling up in a warm coat is not the only way to stay warm on a chilly autumn day – gloves or mittens are essential. Well, if you want to feel your hands upon arriving at your destination. Have you ever tried to grip a pen to take notes with numb hands? It ain’t pretty.

But gloves are. Designers have really pulled out all the stops on gloves/mittens this year. They’ve incorporated all the latest trends (studs, ruffles, animal print, color) and made them fully functional for women of the 21st century. Meaning, fingerless/thumbless options so you don’t have to risk frostbite to check your News Feed.

And the best part: you can get them for cheap. You don’t need to spend $30 on something that you know you’re gonna lose (because you will and you know it).  Just stock up on the cheapies or, even better, grab a pair with strings. It worked in pre-school, so why not now? While your friends may mock you, you’ll be the one laughing when they tear off a mitten to return a text and lose it somewhere between here and that lecture hall across campus.

Check out some of the best of the best in hand and wrist warmers here.
