[This is part of the Yoga Series. Check out more yoga posts below!]

When was the last time you came home from work feeling well rested, relaxed and energized? Sounds like ages ago for me but that all changed with yoga. Every day I do some yoga stretches, and I no longer feel tired and troubled anymore or wonder if I still have enough energy to go home, cook meals or spend time with friends.
Stress in work is always a serious matter since it represents major impacts on your general health. In fact according to the American Medical Association (AMA), 80% to 85% of all human illnesses and discomforts are all stress-related. Each week, about 95 million Americans are suffering from any stress-related symptom; you can start counting with high-blood pressure, migraines, lower back pains and the list goes on and on.
Thanks to yoga, you can combat all the negative effects that stress wreaks into your system. Anyone can give yoga stretching a try by dedicating some time throughout your day to release all the dangerous buildup of various stress chemicals within your body. Afterwards, you will feel better, lighter and more alert. You will also find it easier to concentrate on your tasks.

My friend and I checked out this new yoga class in L.A. called Bikram yoga aka Hot Yoga. This type of yoga is very popular in L.A. so we decided to take a class. OMG!!!!!!!!!, the classroom was heated up to like 100 degrees. I didn’t think I could survive. I sweated like I have never sweated before in my life. I probably lost 10 lbs in that 90 minute class. Supposedly this type of yoga is designed as a rejuvenating exercise that strenghtens the body from head to toe. Not only can you drop a significant amount of weight doing a couple of classes, your flexibity increases too! Doing some of the poses was easier for me to do since I was in a heated room. For people who are new to yoga or would like to try a different style, go check out Bikram yoga studios in your area. Trust me when I say you’ll be dripping with sweat. It was a great class and me and my friend plan on going back next week. Here’s a link to find one near you:
