You’ve got your stash of go-to lipsticks, favorite lip glosses, lip stains for that natural rosy look, and practical lip liners for those
days when you need something more precise and foolproof… but lip crayons? Sounds like something you would have reached right for when raiding your mom’s makeup stash as a little girl, but they’re actually way more grown-up than they sound — in the most fun, beautifying way possible!
Slightly more waxy than your typical gloss, glossier than your typical tube lipstick, yet way more color-saturated than a gloss, lip crayons apply much smoother than their Crayola inspiration, so don’t be turned off by the name! Lip crayons are more like chubby pencils, technically, but somehow the idea of a crayon is just way much more fun, giving the idea of effortless, on-the-go color that’s as simple as staying within the lines (that is what lip color is all about, anyway, right?). I especially love Tarte’s LipSurgence for a more sheer, stain-like formula, while Lipstick Queen’s Chinatown pencils pack some serious color despite their lightweight glossy texture!
