From left to right: Derek Lam (Fall 2012), Anthony Vaccarello (Fall 2012)
The fall 2012 runways enlightened us with a variety of beauty trends and one of my favorite top fall beauty trends that I’m dying to try is the sketched lashes trend. Smudged out eyes with lashes sketched on the bottom and top were widely noticed at the fall fashion shows. Designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Derek Lam, and Anthony Vaccarello gave models this ultra sultry look.
At the Derek Lam fall 2012 show, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director, Tom Pecheux, was inspired by the naughty school-girl look, but still wanted youth and innocence.
“The French have a saying for this look: ‘Un peu décalé, ‘ it’s inspired by a woman who has a unique way about her. Unexpected. Intriguing. Different from all the rest. She is youthful and innocent, yet far from immature.”
Get the Look:
Step 1. He swept on a combination of Limited-Edition Pure Color Eye Shadow Palette in Black and Burgundy Bronze as well as Pure Color Eye Shadow in Sugar Cube onto the lids and along the bottom lash line to make the eyes stand out.
Step 2. Sumptuous Two Tone Eye-Opening Mascara in Bold Black/Rich Brown was used to accentuate the lashes.
Step 3. Lastly, a swipe of Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Pink completed the look.
Sketched lashes can look fab if done right so it’s a yay in my book. It’s a great look to wear to a party or for a night out with friends.
What do you think of the sketched lashes trend?
