Being part of the Total Beauty Network has its perks. I received a huge box last week and to my surprise, the box was filled with Loreal hair products. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was amazed and very excited to try all this free stuff. One of the products that I received was L’Oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Collection. It includes the shampoo, conditioner, and the conditioner treatment. The Nutri Gloss Collection has a pearl protein complex to give your hair that extra shine and soft touch. It comes in several types: medium to long hair that normal/fine or curly/wavy.
As soon as I opened the bottle, I said to myself “Wow.. that’s a nice scent. Kind of fruity but fresh fragrance.”
My review (Shampoo): The shampoo left my hair feeling fresh and cleaned and it left the scent too. Just two washes did the trick. Other horrible shampoos I’ve tried in the past required 3 washes and sometimes 4. I didn’t really noticed a huge difference in shine on my hair with just the shampoo alone, but so far it’s not that bad. I really liked that it didn’t weigh my hair down.
My review (Conditioner): The conditioner made my hair somewhat soft. There was little shine so I was a little disappointed with that. On all honesty, I had better. The only positive is that it did a good job detangling my hair. But not great!
My review (Conditioner Treatment): The treatment didn’t really add any extra help to my hair. It made my hair a bit softer and more manageable but not a huge improvement on shine.
For someone like myself who has dry and damaged hair, I need something that’s a little bit stronger than this conditioner. If anything, I would probably continue to use the shampoo because it cleaned my hair very nicely. I didn’t have to keep reusing the shampoo to get it cleaned like other shampoo products I’ve tried. I also loved the smell.
So, if you’re someone who has dry or damaged hair like myself, I wouldn’t recommend this collection. Well…maybe the shampoo but everything else, forget it!
L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Smoothness- Smoothing Cream
Here’s another product I received from total beauty. This smoothing cream tames rebellious hair without the weighing down the hair or the leaving the greasiness.
My review: I liked it. It did exactly what it said. As soon as I put it on, it made my hair soft and I saw a little bit of shine too. It’s a quick fix and it kept my frizz under control. This is one I would recommend.
L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix- Ultra Fine Spray (Extreme Hold)
This finishing spray is a clean non sticky application that gives your hair an all day hold. It supposedly dries your hair pretty fast too! It also has a All Day Humidity Protection to tame frizz and flyaways.
My review: I liked the fact that it is non sticky which it was. Well done! As far as giving my hair an all day hold, I’d say a 6 hour hold. Towards the end of my work day, the hold wasn’t as strong as the beginning. My work day is 8 hours so it was a little disappointing. To get an all day hold, you will need to reapply throughout the day. Not bad for a drugstore product. I do like the fact that it was non-sticky. It tamed the flyaways too!
Overall, the products were not all bad and some did deliver what it said it would do. I like the studio line the most. I would love to try the rest from that line. When I get the chance I’ll definitely do a review on them.
Check out my other L’Oreal Vive Pro review too!
I've used this a few times and it's pretty decent. I used all three products (L'Oreal Paris VIVE Pro Nutri Gloss shampoo, conditioner and conditioning treatment)each time I wash my hair because it needs extra moisture. It's intended for medium to long length hair that is damaged — bingo, that's me! I'm currently growing my hair out and it's right at my shoulders. All my coloring has left my hair pretty dry to the point that I rely on a good conditioner and serum. The conditioning treatment worked pretty well. My hair was soft and I was able to run my fingers smoothly during the washing and conditioning process. Still, I've had better conditioners…I prefer conditioners that come in a tub because they tend to offer more intensive treatment.
