3 Ways to Sneak in Probiotics Into Your Diet

Having a night out with girlfriends or enjoying fast food on my “cheat day” do not go hand in hand with a happy gut. Enjoying a cheat meal like a burger and fries is what I look forward to every weekend and having a margarita with girlfriends are one of my favorite bonding times, but they can wreak havoc on my delicate gut microbiome. Along with keeping up with my exercise routine and a healthy diet, my gut could also use some extra attention. The gut microbiome, a community of good bacteria, live in the digestive tract and can affect my skin health, weight, immune system, and even mood.  One way I can cultivate a good microbiome is by including more probiotics into my diet.

What are Probiotics?

In our gut, there are trillions of bacterial micro-organisms swimming around. Some of the bacteria residing in the gut is good and some of it is bad. The bad bacteria in our gut can be the effect of a poor diet, hormone imbalance, vitamin deficiencies and many other things. If there’s less good bacteria to fight off the bad bacteria, it can lead to serious health problems and diseases.

Probiotics are active, good bacteria that aides in keeping your gut happy and healthy.

3 Ways to Sneak in Probiotics

Here are 3 ways I like to sneak in probiotics into my diet and improve my gut microbiome and digestion.

1. Headed to work in the morning? Pick up a parfait for breakfast.

Eating yogurt can rev up your immune system thus giving the community of your microflora a serious boost. So the next time you’re heading for work, go for Greek or plain yogurt topped with honey and fresh fruit to enhance flavor while cutting the added sugar.

2. When contemplating a latte, consider a chai green tea.

I love cozying up with a cup of chai green tea latte in the morning. The ingredients found in chai green tea can actually help facilitate the growth of good, probiotic bacteria in the gut.

3. Add a probiotic daily supplement to your health tools.

Since my goal is to live a healthier lifestyle, I surround myself with the tools I need to be healthy— things like workout gear, nutritious foods, drinks, and supplements. Renew Life® is definitely one of those tools. I picked up a bottle of Renew Life® Ultimate Flora Extra Care Daily Probiotic at my local Target a couple days ago so I just started taking it. The benefits of the product include:

Taking a supplement like Renew Life® Ultimate Flora Extra Care Daily Probiotic can help restore your digestive balance and adding it to your diet is an easy change to make for your health.*

  1. I’ve been taking probiotic supplements and also eating more marinated foods such as cabbage and pickles. Gut health is very important.

  2. I’ve never heard this brand before, but I think I should try it because I know probiotics are really helpful to our body.
