Bikram Yoga and Weight Loss
My friend and I checked out this new yoga class in L.A. called Bikram yoga aka Hot Yoga. This type of yoga is very popular in L.A. and around the nation so we decided to take a class. Once we arrived, we were shocked to learn that the classroom is practiced in a room that heats up to 105 degrees. I didn’t think I could survive. I sweated like I have never sweated before in my life. I probably lost 5 lbs in that 90 minute class. Supposedly this type of yoga is designed as a rejuvenating exercise that strenghtens the body from head to toe. Not only can you drop a significant amount of weight doing a couple of classes, your flexibity increases too! Doing some of the poses was easier for me to do since I was in a heated room. For people who are new to yoga or would like to try a different style, go check out Bikram yoga studios in your area. Trust me when I say you’ll be dripping with sweat.
