4 Healthy Changes I’m Making to My Morning Routine

Since the start of the new year, I’ve talked heavily about changing past daily habits to live a more healthy lifestyle. I’ve been discovering new ways to live an aspiring life through nutrition and diet, an active lifestyle, embracing more natural “chemical-free” products and just living more happily. To keep myself feeling happy and healthy, I needed to upgrade my daily morning routine to one that aligns with my current goals.

So, I’m here to share my morning routine for a healthy start to my day.

1. Drink Lemon Water

At 6am, I get up and head straight to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water with a slice of lemon. I read online that there are a lot of benefits of drinking lemon water in the morning so I added this step to my morning routine. It’s one of the best things you can do in the morning as it gives you an energy boost, helps promote good digestion and clear skin, and flushes the body of waste that accumulated overnight. This water usually gives me a boost of energy and makes me less likely to want to head back to bed, especially when I drink it right after I wake up.

2. Weigh Myself

Once I’m fully awake, I start getting ready to head to the gym but before I leave, I’ll get on the scale to weigh myself. Weighing myself each morning is a nice kick start of the day. It’s good to know where I’m at and it helps me stay on top of my goals.

3. Workout In The Morning

I workout 4 times a week. I like to switch it up each time I go to the gym. One day I’ll focus more on cardio, the next is toning or I’ll do a full class session instead like yoga or pilates. Whatever I do, I’m being active and movement of any kind helps get the blood flowing. In the past, I would go to the gym during my lunch break or after work. Now I go early in the morning before work. With this new change, I feel I’m more likely to stick to a routine than any other time of the day.

Once I’m back from the gym, I’ll take a shower and then have breakfast. I usually keep it simple like avocado toast or a protein smoothie. At this point, I feel good knowing that these small changes will come with big rewards. With my recommitment to healthy living, the first of many changes started in the kitchen and once I was comfortable, it took no time at all to realize that I needed to move to natural personal care products.

  1. Those are great ways to start the day. I used to workout every morning, but have slacked for the past several months unfortunately. It always made my whole day better and it’s difficult to get back into it once you slack for so long! I love Tom’s products as well!

  2. I think I need to copy what you are doing. Hopefully the lemon water and weighing in the morning first then I’ll try to move the exercise in the evening since I will be late for office or probably adjust my time of waking up.
