How to Reveal Smooth and Healthy Skin On A Tight Budget

January 20, 2009

st ives apricot scrubFinding skincare products that can deliver beautiful, healthy skin can be hard to find if you’re on a tight budget. I’ve come across several facial scrubs that cost an arm and a leg but it deliver great results which I expect since I’m pouring out twice as much than I would like to pay. So what do I consider great results? Well.. a skincare facial scrub that can deep cleanse my pores and can successfully remove dead skin cells to reveal smooth and soft skin. Is it possible to find a facial or body scrub that can give me smooth and healthy skin on a much smaller budget? Yes, it’s possible with St. Ives Apricot Scrub. If you’re on a budget this is your best bet because it works just as well as the more expensive skincare products I’ve come across.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub is an invigorating scrub and is the secret to revealing beautiful and healthy skin on the face and body. It’s a natural exfoliant that deep cleans the pores and gently removes dull skin creating a smoother and softer appearance. Here are other great skin features on the product:

  • Evens out skin tone on face
  • Makes pores appear smaller
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Non-drying
  • Won’t clog pores
  • Vitamin-rich apricot extract
  • Contains Swiss Glacial Water
  • Nourishing Swiss Botanicals

This has been one of my secrets for smooth skin. I’ve used this  St Ives scrub for years and is a smart buy for a great price. It works very well on people suffering with acne/oily skin. In fact they have a scrub specifically for acne sufferers. It’s good to use on any skin type and a good alternative to microdermabrasion or high end products if price is an issue. It might not be as effective but it’s a good start. Also, be well advised before using any scrub especially if you have sensitive skin.

Don’t overuse!!!! Use in moderation such as every 1 to 2 weeks. Now, start showing that healthy skin on the face and body with St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Available at your local drugstore.

This is a terrible face scrub – it's far too abrasive and can create tears and scratches in the skin and pores. Ask a dermatologist.

It depends on the skin type. I believe some people with sensitive skin may feel it to be too rough but people with oily and acne prone skincare benefit from it. I suffer from oily skin and my dermatologist says it's okay to use as long as I don't over do it. I've tried other harsher face scrubs on my face and microdermabrasion and my skin was able to tolerate it. There's always pros and cons with any product because it doesn't work for anyone.

This is one of my favorite scrubs too. My skin feels very smooth afterwards. Thanks for the post!

I used it before and it gives you smoothie feeling, but I'm now using the quicker way 😉

I recently switched to only using face creams that contain real plants, fruits and/or juices. No more chemicals for me! Chemicals in skincare products will cause your skin to sag in the long run. That’s because those chemicals don’t belong there and impact your skins elasticity.

So far the only real good product I can recommend is the 3 Berry Face Serum, from the Made from Earth product line. I found them in a Whole Foods Store and tried out a bottle and I love it. Its thick enough to moisturize deeply, but my skin really just absorbs all of it once applied, so it doesn’t have that heavy feeling. Definitely recommend it…the website says it contains real blueberries, raspberries and cranberries – I guess that makes the “3” in three berry serum….

There is so much skin care out there it’s almost impossible to try them all out. I’m glad I found this and will try out your recommendation.
