It’s Time to Exfoliate and Get Polished for Spring

March 19, 2010

Yes, the days are longer and I am hoping that the sun is shining in your part of the country. It’s time to pack away heavy winter pants and tights and bare legs with swingy skirts for spring! I don’t know about you, but my legs are in need of some tender loving care. Now is the time to get in the habit (if you aren’t already) for a weekly exfoliation on your arms and legs. Wash away dead dry skin and reveal a smoother softer texture. I’ve already started wearing skirts here in California, and am sooo excited. With all of the pretty spring floral dresses and strappy sandals I’ll definitely need my legs to look their best. I’ve already unpacked and can’t wait to wear my new Christian Loubuitin esapdrilles I bought on sale last fall.

This exfoliator from Clinique is part of my weekly leg and arm regimen followed by a super hydrating moisturizer. I’m using Clinique’s Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream ($20 for 8.5 oz at Nordstrom). It works on even the roughest spots on my heels and elbows as it increases smoothness and removes dullness. It does have a bit of a strong minty smell and is very refreshing. We also love Caroline Chu’s SPF 15 Moisturizing Lotion.

If you are adverse to mint scented products, try Philosophy’s exfoliator – Pure Grace Perfumed Hot Salt Exfoliating Scrub ($25 at QVC.com). It has a ultra-fresh smell of just cleaned with soap-and-water! This is a glycerin based formula which contains natural extracts to help moisturize as well as remove dead skin.

Don’t forget to indulge in a pedicure. After all you don’t want to worry about unsightly toes when wearing sandals. There are lots of great colors this spring, including the trendsetting grey color from Chanel, Le Vernis Nail Color in Particulière. A set of clean shiny pedicured toes and great looking legs will not only make you look fabulous, it will make you feel younger too!

[…] I have never actually used this product; however, my friend raves about it. I usually trust her taste because we have similar taste. She is crazy over Neutrogena Energizing Sugar Body Scrub in Citrus Flavor. I have always been a fan of Neutrogena because their products are good and inexpensive. This scrub leaves your skin silky smooth and leaves fresh citrus scent (Read: It’s Time to Exfoliate and Get Polished for Spring). […]
