Bright & Bold
According to the Pantone Report, Spring 2012 is the season of “color” and boy is there a lot of it. Let’s just say the spring season is full of energetic hues and bold cheerful colors calmed by warm neutral tones. Color has been an inspiration for fashion designers this season and an inspiration for me too! Bold colors such as tangerine, warm yellows, berry pink, and turquoise are the perfect refresher to liven up your spring wardrobe.
Geometric patterns are all the rage for spring 2012. It’s so simple in design yet a bold look that will modernize your wardrobe. It’s also great for pattern mixing too! Some of the most gorgeous art deco designs incorporates bright pops of color!
Pastels can add a bit of romance to your spring look. I tend to go for soft shades that evokes the look and smell
Floral prints will always be a spring favorite of mine and this season, the super-fresh look has been updated. Head-to-toe florals were seen all down the runway from floral jackets, floral pants, and even floral shoes!
What’s your favorite fashion trends for 2012?
For more fashion inspiration or to keep up with the latest fashion trends, I would suggest tunning in to NBC’s newest show Fashion Star (I sure will!). It’s premiering next Tuesday, March 13th 9:30/8:30c.
Fashion Star on NBC is a new reality competition series in search for the next big brand in fashion.
The host and executive producer Elle Macpherson along with celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos will all be sharing fashion designing tips and advice to give 14 unknown fashion designers the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize to launch their collections in three of America’s largest retailers: Macy’s, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.
