Pantone Announces Top Colors for Spring 2013

Pantone colors spring 2013

Well Tangerine Tango, we had a good year in 2012 but now it’s time to crown a new color. Next season’s colors will focus on the other side of the color spectrum. According to Pantone, The Color Institute, Monaco blue will be taking the crown for Spring 2013.

“It speaks to the practicality that we are seeing in society, ” Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, told WWD. “You have to realize there is still concern out there for the economy, ” adding, “people want dependably stable colors.”

This hue is a more subtle version of maritime blue but, we can expect to see several designer’s work this color alongside brighter hues. Rounding out the top four colors are Dusk Blue, Emerald, and Grayed Jade and the rest on the list is as follows: Linen, Poppy Red, African Violet, Tender Shoots, Lemon Zest, and Nectarine.
