Fashion Trends Spring 2011

February brings a complete seasonal change in fashion so with January soon ending, it’s time to switch out your winter wardrobe because spring is a coming. From 70’s inspired fashions to sheer madness, the spring 2011 runways delivered quite a punch in style compared to last year’s fashion. Designers from New York to Milan had like minds on numerous trends- bold colors, eclectic prints,   stripes, animal print and tons more. There’s no denying that spring trends will rule for the next couple of months and with a variety of options this season, there’s plenty to choose from.

Here’s a look at 9 of the top spring fashion trends for 2011!

70’s Fashion

Looks like we’re going retro so bring on the bell bottoms! Skinny jeans are becoming obsolete and it’s all about the flare. Other notable 70 fashion trends: floppy hats, peasant dresses, playful prints, high-waisted pants, and denim on denim.

Bold Color

Color is always a favorite during the spring but this time designers took it to the max. From bright reds and oranges to color blocking, the retro look is where it’s at.

Neutrals

Designers are no stranger to neutrals. The warm colors of neutrals, browns, and beige are naturally beautiful on its own or revamped when paired with black.

Long Lengths

How low can they go? Designers are showing less skin this spring with longer skirts and pants. Hemlines reach the floor or grazing the ankles showing a more grown-up appeal.

Eclectic Prints

No florals this time because cool and funky prints are hot, hot, hot! Play around with mixed prints, stripes, or sequins for an eye-catching effect.

White Party

Minimalism still finds in way into the seasonal trends and the all white look is positively chic.

Left to Right: Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang

Pajama Time

I noticed a lot of laid back pieces in pajama dressing. Designers like Michael Kors and Suno reinvented the everyday look with the pajama trend. It’s one of those trends that can go terribly wrong if not worn correctly.

Sheer Madness

Sheer tops, sheer pants, sheer skirts, sheer everything! It’s a trend that will never die so again layering is key to pull off this look.

Animal Attraction

Animal print evolved from the fall runways and this spring, were are not limited to just leopard. Expect giraffe, python, and other animals from the feline kingdom.
