Line the inner rim with NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Black Moon, blending above the lash line to the outer corners. The buzz in the beauty world is CVS, the largest US drugstore, is planning to open Beauty 360, a high end beauty store that is scheduled to launch by the end of this year. They will start in the east coast and gradually open beauty stores in the west coast. CVS “Beauty 360″ will carry 32 skincare and cosmetic lines and perfumes. The store will be staffed by trained beauty consultants that will analyse and recommend specific skin care products based on skin type.
The new store will be sized at around 3000 sq ft, about the size of Sephora. They are expected to compete with other skincare and cosmetic stores such as Bath & Body Works, Sephora, and Ulta.
I also hear that some of their products will be priced a little bit below department store prices in the hopes of attracting more customers.
I don’t shop at CVS for beauty products but these new plans is sparking my attention. I don’t know how this is going to play out but it sounds nice. There’s nothing wrong with an upgrade. So, I guess we will just have to wait and see. I wonder what brands they will be selling.

Ever wonder why your face breaks out when wearing makeup or why your makeup application doesn’t go on evenly? Have you ever considered your makeup brushes as the culprit?
Truth is, makeup brushes can collect lots of dirt, oil, and bacteria after a long period of usage. So, it is essential to frequently wash your brushes so your face can stay clean and healthy. Bacteria is one factor that people should be aware of when using makeup brushes. Bacteria loves to breed in brushes which will eventually cause acne breakouts so cleaning them shouldn’t be taken lightly. You want to maintain a good hygiene to help keep your skin clear so CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES!
Here are a few tips to properly clean your makeup brushes. First you’ll need:
- Towel
- All your brushes (eyeshadow, makeup, blush)
- Shampoo
- Vinegar
- Water
- First, run all your brushes under the sink faucet in warm water.
- Clean them by using a small amount of shampoo, work in a lather, then rinse. (Makeup brushes are made out of hair so shampoo would be a great choice.)
- Continue to shampoo and rinse until there’s no more color from the brush.
- Make a mixture of vinegar and water in a bowl. 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar.
- Dip the brushes in the mixture for a couple of seconds and remove. (This will disinfect the brushes.)
- Lastly, place brushes on top of towel and allow them to air dry.
There are other alternatives you can use to clean your brushes. Several inexpensive brush cleaners are available at your nearest beauty stores. They are just as effective and will give your brushes that proper cleaning. I prefer the method above but either one will work. Your brushes should also be cleaned once a week. Doing so will keep your face clear and your makeup looking flawless.
