Halloween From Your Makeup Bag (via College Candy)

by Diana Ajih on October 26, 2011

Guest post from my friends over at College Candy!

It’s almost Halloween, and I can’t wait! I’m not the biggest fan of the scary or paranormal, but I love the looks and excessive makeup. That’s the best part of this holiday. Well, besides the candy. It can be really tough to decide on a costume, especially being on a college budget.

There are so many different looks you can do on any other given day, but Halloween is when you can really try out some fun stuff.

Check out this halloween makeup ideas you can do using your own makeup!

If there’s one thing more exciting than Sephora itself (aka The Mothership), it’s their exclusive Beauty in a Box collections that clumps some of the more coveted products from across our favorite brands into one themed value set, helping us get more for our money and create a signature look with one easy purchase. Last fall, these life-saving bargain sets went Halloween-festive with some killer beauty ideas to go with our sexy costumes (and all the products and steps to achieve the looks ourselves), and now Sephora is at it again with yet another series of brand-new costume-themed beauty box for Halloween 2010!

While I’m a sucker for a good value set, it becomes pretty clear that the “themes” are just suggestions, meant to serve as inspiration for the rest of your look, as the products within them are certainly not “costume-exclusive.” For example, the Vampire set has everything you might want to create your blood-lusting look (well, except the teeth…) — dramatic fake lashes, red lip gloss, matte black liner, sparkly black shadow, and crimson lip liner — but you could also easily use the same products to create your look for a witch, devil, or even Vegas showgirl (which, funnily enough, all have their own separate Beauty in a Box sets). Either way, a good deal is a good deal, and if you’re looking for somewhat subtle Halloween makeup that can also be used later when you’re not trying to look ghoulish, Sephora’s the way to go!

Beauty Must Haves for Halloween

by Diana Ajih on October 13, 2008

in beauty

halloween makeupHappy Monday! It’s a new week of fabulous beauty and skincare products. Today I want to share with you some great beauty products for Halloween since it’s near. I was at Sephora this weekend and they had several great beauty items for Halloween. So, I’ll share with you a couple of them that caught my attention and maybe yours too!

Check out this exotic eye kit from ColorOn EyeEnvy. This screams Halloween makeup. I love it! This is a one size fits all mineral cream eyeshadow application. This product comes with different types of animal print shadows where you place over your eyes and peel off. It’s long wearing, crease proof, and is 100% hypoallergenic. The colors are fabulous. If only I still had my leopard print costume….Oh well.

Philosophy Haunted House Set

I told myself that this Halloween I wouldn’t touch any candy and tame my sweet tooth; however, that doesn’tHalloween Beauty Must Haves mean I can’t bathe in it. No! I’m not crazy. I’m talking about Philosophy’s Haunted House Set, a trio with sweet tasting scents: Pumpkin Spice Muffin, Black Licorice, and Caramel Apple. Yummy! So far I’ve only tried the Caramel Apple and I must admit the scent is utterly divine. I can’t get enough of it. This trio of sweet-scenting high foaming shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath will leave your skin cleansed, soft, and tasty!

Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case

halloween beautyHalloween is a great time to play around with fun, bright colors so check out this 12 palette makeup kit from Make Up For Ever. These 12 vibrant colors are used by several makeup artists. Some people would probably scream because the colors are so bright but have no fear if you’re using it as Halloween beauty. You can create an array of looks with this makeup kit. It can be used for the eyes, lips, and cheeks. I would go crazy with this kit because I love the colors.

So there you have it. Some great beauty must haves for Halloween.
