How to Create an Everyday Smokey Eye

April 5, 2013

pixi lid and line

Target put together a fantastic video tutorial with Pixi cosmetics to create a simple smokey eye look. I really liked the product in this tutorial because it’s a great way to transition your day makeup to a smokey eye for an evening look.

Pixi Lid & Line Pencil is a 3-in-1 product (liner, eyeshadow, smudger) so you don’t need anything else making it fast and simple to create a smokey eye look.

Check out the step-by-step tutorial below.

Here’s a similar look to the video to create an everyday smokey eye.

Products used:

  • Pixi Lid & Line Pencil in Smokey Black
  • Brown & Neutral eyeshadow

Step 1. Use the Pixi liner end to line your upper and lower waterline.

Step 2. Then line your upper lashes (it’s okay to be a bit clumsy here).

Step 3. Then take your powder side and press against the lash line and lid area.

Step 4. Then take the remaining powder and sweep underneath the eye.

Step 5. The use the smudge end to blend into the crease

Step 6. Next, add a light neutral shadow and apply into the crease.

Step 7. Then, take a brown eyeshadow and apply at the center of the lid and blend.

Step 8. Reline your upper lash again with the liner end and smudge up to blend it with your lid color.

That’s it!

Very good tutorial! I always go to a smokey eye when I have an evening look, but sometimes it just doesn’t look right. I’ll use your tips next time I give it a try!
