Review: Tory Burch Perfume

tory burch perfume review

One of my favorite designers, Tory Burch expanded her fashion empire into a new territory: beauty. She just launched a color cosmetics line, a bath and body line, and her first fragrance. After receiving a sample a few weeks ago and being such a huge fan of her brand, I bought her new fragrance at Bloomingdale’s.

I love testing out fragrances, especially new ones that just came into the market. I was really excited to try her fragrance because she described it as “tomboy meets feminine” and I feel like that’s kind of me.  Well, I wouldn’t exactly say I’m a tomboy, but more casual yet feminine. The perfume has a mix of zesty top notes such as mandarin and grapefruit that melts down into a floral jasmine and tuberose. It finishes with sandalwood and vetiver, her family favorite.

“I wanted the vetiver because not only did my father wear it, I did, too, and so did my brothers.” -Tory Burch

My review: I really like the smell and the packaging is simply gorgeous. It’s not too sweet but still girly. I tend to buy perfumes for their packaging despite the scent, but this time I like the scent so it’s a win win! I really like the gold details along the side of the bottle cap and of course, the famous gold Tory Burch symbol at the top.

Aftering wear it, I definitely noticed the citrus smell and the hint of sweet florals. It’s not overpowering, which is always a good thing, and the lasting power was reasonable, but I felt it ended a bit sooner than expected from eau de parfum created from Estee Lauder. Overall, I say it ranks well with Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger fragrance lines.

With the holidays approaching, this perfume would be a great gift idea for a person who want’s something preppy-chic.
