Hey guys!

Today I’m sharing my tips on how I take care of my natural hair. Not only will I give you my step-by-step process, I’ll also share my favorite line of hair products I’m enjoying at the moment from SheaMoisture.

I’ve used SheaMoisture products in the past, like their African black soap and a few of their hair products. This was my first time trying out multiple products from one of their lines, and I am absolutely loving them!

The Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter line has been a part of my hair care regimen for the past couple of weeks. This particular line has an anti-shrinkage formula designed to elongate 3-4c hair. I found it at my local Walmart which isn’t surprising since one of the reasons why I love shopping there is due to their large selection of multi-natural hair care products. The prices are always affordable, too.

My friend was my motivation to stop perming my hair 2 years ago, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It’s been a struggle to patiently wait for my hair to grow out after I did the big chop last year. I was wearing wigs (I still do every now and then) until I was happy with a hair length I can work. I give my hair lots of tender love and care because healthy hair is key to me.

My Natural Hair Routine

My hair routine is great for 3-4c hair types because it’s simple yet effective.

Step 1. I section my hair into 4 quarters and wash my hair with SheaMoisture Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter Detangling Shampoo. The shampoo made it easy to finger detangle my hair well. It honestly felt like a conditioner but still cleansed my hair.

Step 2. Once I’m done with the shampoo, I use SheaMoisture Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter Leave In/Rinse Out Conditioner. I initially planned to use it as a leave-in conditioner but after leaving it on for a couple of minutes, I decided to rinse out. I wanted to use it as a regular conditioner since this was my first time using the product. It moisturized my hair really well and smoothed out my strands. It also provided some definition and movement.

Step 3. On damp hair, I applied the SheaMoisture Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter Curl Stretch Pudding from root to tip. This product is my favorite from the line. My hair felt so soft and hydrated afterwards. It gave my hair the perfect amount of moisture.

Step 4. Lastly, I paired the Curl Stretch Pudding with the Styling Gelee. I really noticed the stretch at this point and my 4c curls were showing a bit more definition.

Step 5. I created twist outs throughout my hair and let dry overnight. The next morning I unraveled the twists and styled my hair for the day.
