This post is all about how to save on last minute gifts.
As we get closer to Christmas, my to-do lists tend to bloat with constant additions of holiday parties to attend, house decorating to be done and presents to buy. The amount of effort I put into the holiday season can be exhausting before I even step foot in a store.
If I had to choose the number 1 source of stress for me around this year is gift giving. I always struggle to find gifts for loved ones especially for guys. My brother is the hardest to please. There have been years where I’ve gotten him gifts that made him smile and but then there’s a few, like last year, where I felt he gave me a forced smile, haha.
How To Save On Last Minute Gifts
I’m sure gift giving is stressful especially now, since we’re less than two weeks away from Christmas. However, there’s still time to find last-minute gifts and not hurt your wallet. Follow these tips to save on last minute gifts so you don’t go into a frenzy of buying too much and going over budget because you’ll regret it all come January.
1. Make a Budget
I know. It’s hard for me to make a holiday budget and stick to it too. However, when you make a realistic budget, it helps you shop more intentionally and not based on emotion. By doing so, you’ll be more selective on what you buy. I’m half way done with my shopping and I’ve been keeping receipts so I can track my progress and see where my money is going. When my gift giving budget was spent for my dad, I stopped shopping and felt good about it.
2. Buy Online
For the past few years, I’ve done a lot of my holiday shopping in my pajamas. I prefer it because it saves me a lot of time to do other things on my holiday to-do list.
3. Think Practical
When exchanging gifts this year with friends and family, I plan to keep it simple by sticking to practical gifts. It truly is the easiest way to save on last minute gifts. These types of gifts are perfect if you’re doing a gift exchange or just want to spend less. Gifts that are consumable like gift cards, coffee, skincare, and food are ideal because they won’t gather dust.
I know for my dad, he needs a new razor so this Gillette Justice League Gift Pack featuring Batman from Walmart is something he would love and will still serve a purpose. He’ll have his razor and with the other products inside, he can indulge a bit. He also loved watching the Justice League so it’s a win win! The Gillette Justice League Gift Pack featuring Batman is of great value too, priced at only $14.88.

Right now, I’m wrapping up this Old Spice Swagger Gift of Confidence Gift Pack I saw in store for a friend of mine. He uses Old Spice and I felt the name “Swagger” described him perfectly, haha. Along with deodorant, the gift pack comes with Old Spice Red Zone Swagger Scent Body Wash for Men and Old Spice Red Zone Swagger Scent Body Spray for Men. This one is also of great value, priced at $9.88. I even heard the Old Spice guy Terry Crews mention the gift sets on the radio recently!
